Captain Mike Keller is the real deal. Thank you sir. Fascinating info. you had Rob and Mikes attention. Will be applying.
I fish portwashington all summer for many years and pull a lot of all nighters in a summer and you were spot on with everything.good show.
I usually plan to fish alone when conditions are bright/calm so I can just wake up and go whenever- so I’m often on the water at 3-4am but rarely produce until twilight (I don’t mind- the experience is the drive). Lots of info here. I consume a lot of fishing content during the winter and this episode wins my “best-of-the-year(s?)” award.
Iv fished harbors for kings in Indiana and over the years weve seemed to do worse with bright moons. But not always. But these are mature returning kings so who knows. Temp is by far the biggest factor. Great video guys.
Very interesting conversation. Good podcast guys.
Much appreciated!
Great topic. It also explains why fishing is so difficult the morning after the full moon and cloudless sky.
Cap is releasing fish at night, I scoop them up at a day break from the surface floating belly up, they still half way fresh!
Great show thanks for the great information
Our pleasure!
Night fishing off the piers is SO FUN. Chucking glow spoons with the 9ft rod into the dark abyss. They wreck them when it’s hot.
Hey guys! I need to get out...lol as always great info and guests.
Great video and information!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man what an awesome episode. My brother and I have to fish at night and we've slowly started to try to make it our niche too, and we love it for all the same reasons Mike talked about. Definitely learned more about it too- the tea lights are brilliant - that will be added immediately to our toolbox. Would absolutely LOVE to see more night fishing episodes. We're usually the only boat out of Waukegan so it's always a tiny crowd and very little Intel!
Thanks for the comment Sean, glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome show!
I’m having hard time with night fishing, I usually load the boat full of kings before night sets, I feel bummed out I’m missing a fun part
Love the channel guys, i live too fish for these kings, you guys are given away some great knowledge about these fish at knight 🤙🤙 took me a couple years too learn this sport 👊👊 tight lines guys
Much appreciated
I do a lot of afternoon fishing out of mckinley. We typically fish until 10-12 depending on the fish.
We used to hit the Zion plant every spring. Thill floats and crawlers.
Running green and red lights on your planer boards, if they're all-around 360 degrees lights, does more harm than good. Also turn on your AIS and radar and know where commercial traffic is going.
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it

Do j plugs work at night??
@@jeremykendall3003 yep! Theyve worked for me
I’ve caught a ton of lakers at night
What are the lights you purchased from Amazon for the planer boards?
They only bite on the moon they will not bite without it and vertical jigging out on the bank does not work at night 😂 He is definitely correct !!! And like he said why can you crush them off the pier all night but the boat wont work 😂
I hope lk Michigan is cold enough for mr big king this year. lack of snow ice cold kinda got me worried. big alewife should be happy though
More numbers = smaller fish. Im missing the 30s
