    That's amazing. Ever work with Monster Clay and silicone molds? That jellyfly would look awesome done in a clear resin. And lit from within.

    Great work, both making the vid and the sculpt. Keep being awesome and make a effort to remember how much you rock by putting up photos of things you are proud of and good things people said. Make a powerwall that you add/alter to force yourself the revisit and get fuel for the days you're running low...actually I'm probably talking to myself cause that's what I need to do now, but maybe someone reads this and also needs it.

    Love your work. It's inspired me to think about sculpting again after a break of 20 years since finishing my masters in art. How long did it take to do the sculpture. It looks a lot more time-consuming than the video looks.

    Omg, I just found your channel, and I’m so happy!!! Yea! I learned two new tricks from you during this video! That is so exciting. I do have one question, because I do work in polymer clay. When I have baked something and it has cracked, I’ve just patched the cracks useing polymer clay, mixed with liquid polymer clay, to fix cracks. I noticed you, decided to start that piece over, and make it thinner. Should I be doing this, rather than patching the cracks? My sculpture education, is in metalsmithing and jewelry design, and I started working with polymer clay because the metal was messing up my hands, and I needed a softer material. So, I’m just making it up as I go via experiments. I’m so excited to have found your channel, and going to binge watch it while I work on my sculpts😻! I’m so excited to find have found your channel!!! ✨💙✨

    I'm thinking mica powder might also have been good at the dry brush stage. Would that have worked for you?

  • @saashathomas3100

    For a complete beginner, where do you start with clay sculpting ? I see it's a whole process between the forming of the clay, to adding details with tools and then painting as well, which includes knowing how to shade/highlighting, ect. (Which I know nothing about! Lol) So, with that being said.. where would I begin!? 🙂

  • @ltlbuddha
    @ltlbuddha 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Look into Cosclay. It is a flexible polymer clay that is really durable. I'm not sure it is available in New Zealand, though.
    Anyway, that is a beautiful sculpture and the paint makes it come alive.
    Baking powder also does a similar thing when combined with CA glue. I wonder how it compares to the baby powder.

    I love your sculpting. Can you please give me some advice to be motivated for sculpting, because I wanted to start sculpting too, but I fell like I couldn't do this or I won't be happy with the results. I would relly apriciate it. (Sorry for my English I am from Germany and English is my secound langguage)

    Is there a reason you didn’t use translucent clay?

  • @Duder_abides

    Wonder if it would have cracked using Cosclay rather than Sculpey. Doubt it. I'm somewhat over my pieces of sculpey breaking here and there especially tiny parts.

  • @kathyluebke3158
    @kathyluebke3158 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What happens if you over bake the pieces of different thickness? Do you always need to Prebake?

  • @wolflahti412
    @wolflahti412 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    In my experience, overbaking occurs only when you use too high a temperature. As long as I stay at 275 °F, I can safely bake multiple times or for longer times than called for. It's always good to follow instructions, but whereas the clay I use calls for 15 minutes baking time, I bake everything, even my thinnest parts, for 30 minutes with no dire consequences.
    Maybe I've just been lucky. Your mileage may vary.
