    Any VERO users here? ericknorpp here... Just joined! Jason I thought you finally went with the FX3? I had it but ended up selling it for more than I bought it for and got the A7IV which I love so far but miss 4K 60p with no crop actually.

    Can you make a video about Sony a7iv and ninja V talking about what it can and can’t do because there aren’t videos out there!
    To see if it’s worth getting it just to record apple pro res

    Please tell me the desqueeze factor you are using from the FX6 and 50 Anamorphic, for FCX or Adobe Premiere. I own the 35 and 50 for the Meike, and plan on purchasing the 16. Love them!

    Keen to get into Cine lenses, but I can’t find any links to the Mieke lenses that you have. The markings are all a different colour and layout to the ones in your video.

    IMO putting a manual focus lens on a sony calls into question the entire reason to use a sony in the first place.

      No advantages of filming pro res in the a7iv. Only if your computer likes that codec as it can be sometimes easier to edit

    do you always use an external monitor with the sony a74?

    • @JasonMorrisphotocinema

      Not always. But it definitely helps with the cinema lenses and focussing on a bigger and higher resolution screen

      @@JasonMorrisphotocinema Hi have you tried in video the AF ASSIST. i'm trying everything and it's not working. just in photo. Where focus automaticly then you override the ring to focus manually then it goess back to autofcus. any idea how to make it work?

    can't you just use manual focus, on an autofocus lens?

    • @JasonMorrisphotocinema
      @JasonMorrisphotocinema  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s focus by wire. Focus is never the same each time you focus. Cinema lenses allow for continuous focus in the seen points

    Hey hy.
    Your using the A7iv.
    Please help me!
    How do you handle the f…ing rolling shutter in videos?

    • @thisiserich
      @thisiserich 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can fix it in post sometimes, it’s as easy as adjusting a slider.
      What are you shooting where it’s becoming a problem though? The sensor has an average readout speed for full frame cameras. In order to improve rolling shutter from the A7IV’s readout speed value, you’d have to spend significantly more money on a camera with dual sensors or a camera that has a global shutter. You could get an A7SIII but you’ll be making a huge sacrifice in image quality for photography as it’s only a 12 megapixel sensor. You could go that route, or spend six to eight grand on a body that will improve the sensor readout speed by 10 milliseconds. Either way you’re going to be sacrificing something.
      Just try and compose your shots more thoughtfully and don’t pan back and forth as fast as you can. I’ve seen hundreds of films and videos now shot with the A7IV and I’ve never even noticed the rolling shutter. If you’re filming car races or something exclusively, then you probably chose the wrong camera.

    • @TheEbachbub
      @TheEbachbub 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I filmed a horse riding Girl. Dressage. Not a quick pan… But always followed her. I hatte it the way the lanterns Look like. It’s completly unusable

    • @JasonMorrisphotocinema
      @JasonMorrisphotocinema  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can fix it in post but in camera you can film in aps-c crop mode. That will help. Fast action is the Sony a7iv downfall. A7siii is the go here

    • @thisiserich
      @thisiserich 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheEbachbub I would definitely try a real wide lens paired with aps-c mode. It brings the readout speed down to about 10ms instead of the normal 25ms that full frame mode has. If you are able, see if you can rent the Sony 10-20mm lens. Shoot at 10mm in crop mode and it will pretty much eliminate the rolling shutter. If you find that it works for you, then you could buy that lens, it’s around $700. Sigma and Tamron make a good lens at that focal length as well! I believe the Sigma is $600.

    I’m almost positive; ever single gym around the globe has been shot to death. I mean, anyone else tired of seeing sweaty multi-gel lit, workout b-roll? Seriously, think of all the swinging rope shots you’ve seen on TH-cam. It’s enough to turn you into an old fart that complains about it in a random cinema lens video comment section.
