As someone born in Wilkes-Barre whose ancestors were Connecticut Yankees and coal miners I really appreciate the work you put into researching Wilkes...and...Barre. And thank you for pronouncing the town correctly!!! ❤❤❤
The original fort was fort Durkee. John Durkee who was a leader in the Connecticut Son's of Liberty was the one who coined the name Wilkes Barre. I'm a descendent of his sister Mehitable. I can assure you many of the Connecticut Yankees who settled in the Wyoming valley were indeed patriots.

I think I read that John Wilkes Booth was named after his distant relative, John Wilkes. History is fascinating!! Great video. 👍
