New Thunder Show: Rules

- So, what do you do if something incredible happens in your battle that deserves to appear in Thunder Show?
1. While in the game, go to “Community - Replays” and find the replay.
2. Press the “Rename” button and give it a memorable name.
3. Open the Replays folder in the game folder: search for the file with the name you have just given it.
4. Attach the file to an email and send it to thundershow@gaijin.team.
5. Also, do not forget to mention in the email:
- The exact time of the moment you want to share
- Your in-game nickname
- Email address used to register your account
If you want to, you can give some details: about what happened to make this moment so good.

Same dude, such an awesome replay couple updates earlier.. i flew an f2h and lost right wingtip in dogfight, then while returning to the base, i lost my left wingtip since i flew low and hit the mountain.. successful landing with damaged engines with no retries.. i filmed it, but never uploaded due to ultra low resolution, 5fps and ultra low quality.. veri veri veri sad times.. lost my 5k eagles to my old laptop

they would just use the old version for the episode
This is understandable, but it would help if replay files weren't made invalid after every small patch
guess they have options to have client/servers running for a longer time inhouse or even disable the version number check. also, replays only become invalid after a bigger patch, mostly content patches.
Gaijin has their ways to make old replays work, they more than likely can match the replay version with pre-made clients or previous versions of the game.
Don't replays work by recreating events in the game. They are just a recreation of what the game has logged. So, the position of a tank and its speed. The trajectory of an ATGM. However, this isn't exact which is why replays look wonky sometimes. I think the game does its best to sync up the replay and the logs.

It's a shame replay files from older versions of the game become unviewable after major updates, as I've recorded some amazing feats which were lost to history after the Direct Hit update came out.
yeah i have a really cool clip saved to my computer but no way of getting the replay for it
I had like a dumb clip which shows me getting pumeled by 5 tanks but still not dying
It figures they would do this less than a month after I delete a three-year-old file of my best game ever

your account email for your console is used instead. just add that it was recorded on console, what console and the account email for that console.

@@brandonjew1397 I'm going to try the clip I took myself and uploaded to onedrive and sending that to them instead. Very late but I don't care, the clip is years old anyway.
This feels like one step forward and 1.5 steps backward.
It would be a great system if replay files were watchable after each updates.

the file is still saved on your computer, so you can still email it, and they can still view it because they have admin controls, which is how they tolerate working in playback in the first place lol

Everyone complaining about outdated replays, I'm guessing they have access to the previous versions of the game so they can still watch them
only thing about that, unless you named the replay something memorable then how do you know which one to send if you can even watch it.

I would assume if the replay is not renamed, the timestamped name would indicate its age. If it is, there's gotta be something hard-coded in the file that invalidates it after a flight-model-changing update.
They confirmed no support for old replays on the forum post.
I love this new way if doing it! Can old replays still be submitted using an uploaded video though since replays are invalid after a new patch?

I like this new procedure.... Many failed to get involve in Thundershow for being unable to record.... I believe many more will participate than before....

Great work guys but why didn't you go just that one step further and make the whole thing an app within the game ? I was with you right up to "change the name of the file", but you could just have easily said -
Select the replay you want to send
Click on "Send to Thunder Show"
Fill in all the relevant boxes (time, username, free text, etc)
Hit "Send" - an email will be sent to Gaijin with the file as an attachment and the senders registered email address as the return.
I know that this could flood you with submissions but you could add more drop downs and tick boxes to further describe the replay and what makes it so awesome, you could then sort/cull your submissions by type, eg multi kills, munitions exploding in flight, drownings, alternate kills etc.

Can you now do a video for Console players and how we can participate in this too. The PC one looks great and really easy to do, but it rather ignores a large percentage of this game's loyal community.

They never accepted console players into Thunder Show, and i don't think they'll do that anytime soon
They did accept clips from console, and they even sent you the golden eagles.

@@kamov52510 uhh, because controllers are significantly less accurate and have less control. Idk how a person would even use a f4 with a controller, I have over 14 buttons I use with it plus a mouse...

Great, that was quite an issue for a lot of players. Good work Gaijin for going in the right direction :)
Agreed here, it'll be awesome to see everything in maximum possible quality from now on. The only sad part is that they cut it off so abruptly, without letting us know that they'd be making the switch soon.
A couple of videos I wanted to throw in are now invalid, and I have a good enough computer to make those replays happen at max settings myself.
But now we(console) cant do this

Ahh good change, i've had alot of clips which i was too lazy to upload. Good move. Wish this was in play when i had a headon kill with an AIM9B while locking onto the sun at a 4KM distance from a jet.

Sounds nice, you guys do awesome job with video editing, but how about players on other platforms than PC - Playstation or XBox?

Don't be bothered by this change, because Thunder Show never accepted clips form console players anyway, so this change nothing for us, and if you always sent clips for thunder show, in afraid you just lost your time trying to participate in something you couldn't

Well that unfortunate, when I started I got 6 kills but forgot to get the replay for it, and now it’s probably too far gone to recover
If I get on I’ll be one step closer to skip the grind for the squadron leopard since I already have about 2k GE

I had a 7 kill game in air realistic which is more than half of the enemy team shot down with my Me262 A2-a Sturmvogel with only 200 rounds without reloading at base. I hope I'll be part of the show :)

Nice! I have tried my 30 fps, graphics min gameplays before.... This will be a super chance for us low end pc users.
It’s smart way to avoid any unpleasant vehicle skins or flags that might anger certain customers from beyond the wall since they make up the majority of the profitable player base

Ah. Never really did anything thunder show worthy, but I did manage to scout so much in ground RB this one time that I reduced a strike aircraft's spawn point to just 70 SP.
