Absolutely brilliant rifle I really enjoy target shoot with mine, If anyone was thinking of a break barrel you won't go far wrong in purchasing the BSA lightning SE gas ram 22 or 177 calibre. Another enjoyable review Jon 👍Good grouping too much fun mate😄
Good review, I had the spring version of this gun, hard to cock, would not stay zeroed, destroyed scopes, then final straw the barrel pivot was loose causing play in the barrel. It seems according to dealer I bought it from and other reviews the GRT can suffer from these faults too. Maybe a faulty batch?
I had the springer version in 22 and didn’t like it at all, it seemed clunky and clumpy and wouldn’t group. I’ve shot Weihrauch’s all my life but just liked the look of it and as it was BSA I thought it would be an ok gun. I ended up putting it in part ex still with its box for another Weihrauch HW 97k in blue laminate now that gun can group.
Heyup Jonathan, I struggle with most springers, there's a slight improvement with the gas rams, but then the Weihrauch is in a class of its own 👍, thanks for the feedback, cheers buddy, Jon 👍😁

I bought a .177 lighting grt brand new got it home over the chronograph 7.5 fpe ? Back to BSA it went got it back could not zero it on inspection found a millimetre of play at the breach ? Back to BSA it went got it back still play at the breach? & muzzle shroud found to be loose ? Got a full refund & bought a HW98 in .177 excellent rifle I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING MADE BY BSA AGAIN.

@@jonathanhawke2995 The HW98 is on a different level. It's a great pity i still think the lighting is a good looking rifle & i have very fond memories of bsa air sporters & a mercury that i had back in the day. Just added a HW95 to my little collection.👍
Hi Jon, cracking review of the BSA gas ram. You do need to spend some time getting use to them. Shoots way different than a PCP. You need to hone your skills with them. It make you a better and more complete shooter. I have the Cometa fenix 400 compact star. If you get chance have a go with one of them. I wouldn't swap mine for any other springer Inc the hw97 or tx200. Yes it is that good and only around £260.00. To much fun👍
Heyup Brandon, totally agree, they're more manageable than a springer, Brian's got the SE & SE XL in .177 hitting bulls at 94 MTR, I'll probably be doing an xt 200 fairly soon, they're definitely in a league of their own, thanks for the feedback, cheers buddy, Jon 👍😁
Gret review as ever, Jon. I've got the lightning xl tactical in .177 and can't fault it. Mine is one that was made and assembled by BSA in Birmingham, not the Gamo version so has a lovely "action". 👍🙂
Hi,you will mever get any better than a 1 1/2 group even at 20 yards as the barrel moves side to side and wont lock into the same position,,at 40 yards it will be unuseable on vermon or game ,,ot will just injure them ,,and thats not good,,

Quite a nice rifle .. not a springer / GR user these days ... but a nice rifle nonetheless .. looks like a bit of a " tug " to cock it , recon a youngster would struggle ..
