Been a dolphins fan for over 30 years... Follwed football for the same... Seen a lot of hall of fame and elite quarterbacks in that time.. so no one is going to bullshit me into believing Tua is elite. I'm truly hoping they let him play on the 5th year option. If not we have to hope that with the offensive upgraded weapons they have this season that's it's enough to get carry the team over the hump and compensate for Tuas shortcomings.

This will upset some ppl. But I would make him play on his 5th year options. Here’s why….
1. Health concerns, because of his health history. He has to stay health for more than 1 season. Prove to me you can sustain more than one season.
2. Doesn’t show up to the big games. He doesn’t show he can carry a team. Or step up when things aren’t going good.
3. What happens when or if we move on from tyreek. Tua throws to him every other play. Maybe that’s how the system is setup.
4. If the dolphins pay him 50 mil. Or more. How are they gonna be able to keep weapons around him like tyreek, mosert. Because he needs a nucleus to succeed. Young guys will eventually have to be paid.
5. He is a one trick pony. Drop back throw to a spot. That’s not a top tier quarterback. And maybe times have changed. Marino I believe never did that.
What type of offenses Mike run?? An RPO timing pass routes predicated on Tua making the decision usually pre snap. In the 2 years with Mike calling the offense how long do have on the clock before it hits 00? It’s usually 5 seconds to set the office and read the defense. Most teams usually have around 10 seconds….huge difference to diagnose the D. What TD and all other haters say he can’t read defenses is insane. His fists 2 years with Flores all he did was read defenses. If your first option is taken post snap, having to go to the second option in a timing routes makes it extremely difficult especially against top defenses.
Reading defenses don’t have timing routes as you would do a 7 step drop back and survey the defense and that’s where these so called tv coaches call it. It’s not a Tua thing instead it’s the offense Mike runs. And let’s not think that any QB off the street can run this as we saw first hand with sky, Bridge and white. The win total with those guys is 1-5 with the only win vs the Jets week 18 and a 50+ yard FG to win.

TD, what about being in max protection by a large margin compared to other teams? The o-line has been bottom 5 for way too long. This team can not stay relatively healthy across the board. Provide all of the facts when making an evaluation. That being said he hasn't earned a top 5 QB contract yet.

Despite Tua leading the league in passing (at 105), he didn’t have a great year. We were fortunate that Skylar got us that win against the Jets. That made it look like that season was successful. In 2023, we got fortunate with the bad teams we played. This year we’ll see the real Tua and it’ll be the year that they decided to push all their chips in on him! 😂😂 You can’t make it up!

One point no one is mentioning is that we could make him play out the fifth year but still get to a long term deal in season if everything is looking good or better.
