we use a wide blade screwdriver sharpened slightly. the hydraulic action in wet buddy conditions removes the easy shoe, it' our major complaint on them when the muck gets under and around the tabs. Other shoes have served us better
Hi I just had my horse fitted with these shoes and the tabs today and it was our first try for my farrier also so my question is why was the shoe not fitted correctly on the left side in the beginning before it was put on? Or was it put on correctly and it shifted when the horse was out in the pasture ? I guess my main concern with my own horse that the shoes going to fall off or shift and causing my horse not to be balanced. And this is not damaging to the hoof walls with the glue with being removed? Since it looks really time-consuming to remove I don't know if my farruer is going to be really happy with the process when it comes time to pulling the shoe off since it was already really hard to talk him to put the shoes on the first place. The other video I saw in the removal looked a little bit easier but my horse also doesn't like electric tools around him. But the only thing I'm hoping for is that the shoe stays on for the 4-week cycle without it shifting or falling off
They tend to come off pretty easily with nippers after four weeks. If the glue is adhering to the hoof leave it and use a rasp on it. Do not force the glue off it may pull hoof wall with it. Just nip and cut.
It took my farrier 5 hours to remove the first set. But it was her fist time to get them off. So working progress. And then she had trouble welding the new cuffs on... anyways.i am thinking i will get themm off before she comes next time...make it easier. By the way he wore his 8 weeks.but it was a.polyurathane glue. I dont like the color. And i think it was super thick so that didnt help at all. Like i said working progress.
