Jesus is the church intended to be built. To be built on the rock. Not the rock to be put inside the church! Peter is the rock and Jesus is sitting on the rock...not Jesus bringing or lifting the rock! The church is built with the objective of faith proclaim by Simon so the church materials are faith, declaring Jesus as the Saviour/Messiah and the son of God. Jesus renamed Simon who declared the faith is called the rock.
