The older daughter was conditioned to take responsibility for everyone and abandon her own needs. Those two grown women are not your responsibility. They can go off together and get their own place

I noticed there's a lot of time on these shows, when the parents have taken the kids through a lot. Drugs, alcohol abuse different men in the home, so on and so forth, and they kind of just dismiss what the children went through like oh well, that was in the past and let's move on. Those are very traumatic experiences and they will last forever. Mom's real nonchalant about addressing those things, and until she starts being truthful they're not going to get anywhere.

Yup, and this is why so many people grow up and cut their parents off. You can't be a terrible parent and traumatize your kids during their formative years, then expect to disregard what you've done to them and act like it never happened. Selfish. People think just because they had a child, they don't owe the child anything.

There's something incredibly endearing about the mama. She seems genuinely self-aware of her mistakes and is committed to doing better moving forward.
    Heavenly Father,
We come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up this mother and her two daughters to Your loving embrace. We ask for Your divine healing to touch their lives, soothing the wounds of past traumas and guiding them toward restoration and peace.
Lord, grant them the strength and wisdom to learn from their experiences, and fill their hearts with love and understanding for one another. May they build a future rich in compassion, trust, and unity. Guide their steps as they grow closer, nurturing strong and supportive family bonds.
Surround them with Your grace and light, and help them to see the beauty in each other and in the journey ahead. May Your presence be a constant source of comfort and hope as they move forward together.
In Your holy name, we pray.
    Amen.

There may not be a book that tells a woman how to be a mother, but there is instinct, common sense, empathy, intuition and commitment. I just hate when people use the “parenting doesn’t come with a manual” excuse. I know it’s hard, and sometimes we have kids when we’re still kids ourselves no matter our age, but being a parent shouldn’t have to come with a manual. It comes from within.

Makes me sad because my little sister is gone. When she was here we were very hard on her because of her drug addiction and having so many kids out of wedlock but now it's like her being gone I really understand from her perspective even more and I wish she was here so that I could just hug her and be there to support her. That little sister may seem like she's irresponsible but I think it's just she's just coping with life the best way she can and still looking for that motherly love and support. Rewrite:
I was in the same role as the oldest daughter with my drug-addicted mother, repeatedly bringing her into my home to give her a chance to change. The last time I tried to help was when she left my youngest son unattended. After that, I never assisted her, nor show her any grace-until the day she was passing away. I think it would’ve been different if she would have acknowledged the pain she caused like that mother . I live with guilt that the first time I ever told her I loved her, hugged her, and kissed her, she was semi comatose, I could tell she could hear me because her breathing would change whenever I showed her affection. I live with SO MUCH guilt for not trying harder to help her become a better person. 🤷🏾‍♀️

It was definitely inappropriate. My guess is younger sister was intimate with older men and "the wrong crowd" and that's what she meant to allude to but she could have done that in a different way. It definitely hurt her sister and her silence tells me shes fighting with some serious demons and shame. There's always a thin line between drawing boundaries and coming off as judgmental. I could see both sides

I can't hold back the tears😢😢. As much as I appreciate the older sis for her love and maturity, I greatly feel empathy for the younger sis. Because like @karamo said, she had been around and had taken in everything during her mom's darkest moments, she has a lot bottled up and she is just trying to navigate her way around life. I love this family and hope they can mend their issues. Also, I'm super proud of the mom for testing negative to drugs. Welldone mom❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. @karamo, please we need follow ups on this family. You know we love you Karamo❤🥰😍

The way the oldest daughter broke down everything is the reason why alot of people had a problem with me. The way she asked those questions is top tier. And that sister is a miniature version of their mother.

The worst thing you can do is have a parent move in with you.....when your childhood was bad from the parent. As a child, even as an adult, there is a part of you that wants their acceptance. But when you don't grow up in a loving household, with selfish parents......if you move them into your home, they take it over. They completely take over your home and act like they run it. My Father was a terrible Dad. He had a stroke, I took him in. He had to learn to cut his food, write again, etc. It was a lot of work to get him healthy. Once he got healthy, got his job back, he refused to leave. Worst mistake of my life. I cut that man out of my life 20 years ago, and it was the best thing I ever did. You do not owe bad-selfish parents anything in life.
You 100% can cut your Mother out of your life and be better for it! Mom is who she is, she will tell anyone, anything so she can use them. You can also cut your sister out of your life and/or love her from a far. Sister needs to focus on her OWN family. These people are using her....because they know they can

I’m not sure the mum is capable of giving her daughter guidance right now. The mum herself has been self medicating, she will have to find herself too. The youngest daughter is HURT and quite clearly suffering mentally, she didn’t want to let go of her emotions, because she knows it will be the catalyst. Until she is ready to heal, she won’t move forward.

Forgiveness is not about EXCUSING or FORGETTING the hurt that was caused. Adult children need to understand that our parents did the best they could with the knowledge and resources they had at the time. They too are navigating through life, facing their own challenges and STRUGGLES. It's so important to have EMPATHY and COMPASSION towards our parents, just as we would want others to have towards us. Especially if the mother have made some MAJOR CHANGES, and is STILL WORKING to do better. I will always choose FORGIVENESS, and I'd always work with my Mother as long as I see she's working towards doing better. A lot of Adult Children are hard on their Mothers and then they wonder why things are NOT going well for them, nor will it until they learn to LIGHTEN up and exercise PROFOUND UNDERSTANDING. The mother made it clear that that's what she USED to do. Before people judge an ADDICT, put your phone down for 24 hours. Every time you think about it. That's what it feels like for addicts. I'm so very PROUD of the MOTHER. Loving you Karamo as ALWAYS, you're AWESOME. I LOVE you so much.

They’re fighting because of their upbringing. The younger sister acts out and probably should seek a therapist. The older sister has to be the responsible one and has to have two people in her life that has caused trauma. So it’s hard for her to even be in the same house and look at them and all of the memories it brings to her. It’s nice to see that the mother is there and has been changing her life.

I feel so bad for the mom 💔 i understand everybody’s point of view but as long as she’s making strides to go forward…i feel like they shouldn’t beat her down about what she did before. If you don’t want to take the steps to forgive, just leave her alone. And no, I’m not blaming the daughter. But don’t beat a dead horse
