If you add the glue stick piece and mostly melt before you add the crayon you should be able to melt the crayon with the residual heat and have it come together at the same time. Just a thought 🙂
I got in for having an idea about how to make a wax seals then I find out that I got the most relaxed eleven minutes and thirty two seconds of my whole life .Thank you for the peace and the information that you brought to all of us .
Yay! And the stamps have held up over years of use now! I'm wondering if I should share my spring projects on TH-cam as well! But that might be too much 😆
@@ElderberrySprout I've just watched one of your Q&A videos so I can see that you truly are always balancing upon the giggle precipice. And kudos for being so active within your comments!
This is so cool! I've never used any wax seals before, not even the pre-made ones, but I'd love to try and make some out of lino in the hopes that could work.
The ones I made with lino in this video are still holding up! The heart one especially :) I'd say go with simpler patterns to prevent any loss of details over time. Hope you have fun!
Hey, love the video and the energy you're giving.I do have a question btw, what do you mean by "some wax can go through the mailing system and others cannot" ? why so?
It's about 3.5 Inches around. It used to be completely wrapped with wire and beads around the outside, but I disassembled it and now have a lot of pretty beads I can use too. The candle is about 3 inches wide if that helps.
They seal pretty well! As long as you have the right ratio. But you can't put it through the usps because the mailsorting machines can't process them well, so make sure you put your pretty sealed envelope inside another normal envelope!
Wow! What an amazing goal! How would you carve It? I was thinking about using a Dremel but I feel like I would go through a lot of diamond bits lol. Maybe a softer metal like copper would be good!
@@ElderberrySprout Oh no, I won't carve it. I work with nickel silver sometimes so I was thinking on openwork it. I'm pretty sure it can be carved in copper, but I haven't the tools for it.
To melt the wax I often use metal spoons, though they don't have a lot of capacity. A soup spoon would be a better choice than a normal spoon, perhaps. You could also use a measuring cup!
Whenever I try this, I always heat up the glue stick first then add the crayon after the glue stick is melted otherwise the crayon could overheat or burn
I show the process of how I emulsify them through heating them up in the video if you missed that! Beeswax candles burn really hot so that might be helpful as well.
Absolutely! They will definitely not last as long since erasers are more prone to wearing away, but ive made ink stamps with erasers and they are easy to carve, so it is worth a try! Good luck!
Thanks for the correction! Im sure you're right, I dont know much about foreign currency lol. And thank you for watching! I hope this process works well for you when you try it :)
The mail systems are not set up for any wax seals other than plastic ones. To my understanding wax seals made just of wax (een with a little plastic) could crumble apart in mechanical mail sorters, and then they would jam the machine.
Coins or carving your own is a great idea, and waayy cheaper than buying a bunch of commercial ones! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

You can use a little glycerin on your stamp to work as a release. Or, get a clear stamp pad for embossing.
Good ideas!
Great ideas, thanks for sharing. Very relaxing to watch.
Any updates on the alternative to glue?
No alternative to glue yet :/ Hopefully Ill get the chance to experiment some more!

just a korean guy passing by just wanted to let you know 07:10 was a korean 10won worth around a cent
Thank you for telling me that! Foreign currency is so interesting!
Thanks a bunch for your lovely soothing tutorial. i'm going to try making mine with a linucut. let's see how that works....
Goodluck! Mine have held up pretty well since I made this video, so I hope yours do the same!

Thank you for responding, I did find a great candle holder at the Salvation Army.
I'm so glad! Good luck making your own seals!
Ooh thank you for this cool how to! Blessed be! 🤩
I'm glad you liked it! Blessings to you too!
How wide is that candle holder? Where can I find one. I find this to be the most annoying, using small candles

Love this. SO creative.
I hope you try it! It's so fun!
Is there a way to make it waterproof to apply it to fabric
You may be able to just use colored hot glue and glue directly onto your fabric! I've never tried it before, but it may be worth a shot!
How do these attach to the letter you are sealing?

can u use an eraser for rubber?
Absolutely! I've done this, though it might not hold up quite as perfectly over time since it's a little less dense.
can u use a metal spoon?
