    Maybe take it to the metal shop that did the mollymobile. They could replace the rust metal and paint the new metal.

    Rust or no rust it did and will serve you well for years to come, just a little rust treatment and some paint and it's as good again as new.
    The mirrors are more important now!
    We did and will always wish you and your lovely wife and kids all the blessings of a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎅 💓🤶

    Nice job I enjoyed your video and yes they are leaf springs l need to look into removing a few. I just purchased a lightly used one, the American gentleman died and it sat for a year lightly used, I don’t think I would purchase used from a Local as they use them very hard, not to much rust. Best of luck.

    I counted 6 leaf springs and I can almost feel the rough ride on my chair just watching your video. Chances are removing the 4 short ones (Leaf) on each side would make it feel like riding a cadilac and still be safe. Just make sure the shock absorbers are in good condition.:)

    This older Vid popped up in my feed, probably, since I been looking online at these 3 wheelers lol Would be handy for where we live on the mountain in the province. Just getting info and trying to find a Rusi dealer in or around Cebu City, that actually sells these. I like the cargo, but seeing as the passenger models seats in back do fold up out of the way, would work too. Could take the kids to school myself, and save their scooter fares every week lol
    Good to see Bud, I remember your electric 1 from before good ole Molly lol

    on the springs issue... buy some bags of cement... for a car in Nebraska dad always used about 150 pounds. Id guess 75-100 for something like that, put back by the gate would add enough to smooth out the ride. maybe just a sheet of iron... the main thing is just put some weight behind the wheels, the ride will smooth out.

    We bought a Chinese multi cab van to use when we go home to visit with family in Iloilo. Also so they could have something to use too if they needed it. It is also rusting out like yours and roughly the same age. From my understanding the rust is an inherent problem with all Chinese imports. So far that's our only issue. From what i've read most of the mechanical problems happen because of the lack of routine maintenance and not trying to keep the rust in check. There is a marine grade rust restorer that we use there. I'm sorry but I can't remember the name. You can paint over it after it dries so it's not as noticeable. I know that you weren't asking for any information but I hope that it will at least help with your rust problem . God bless and stay safe.

  • @anthonykeller5120
    @anthonykeller5120 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks to me the worst rust is around the welds in the carrier body. This is more likely due to electrolysis based on the placement and size of the holes. You’ll need to get those rewelded before you put any paint on it. I really like the utility of the Chariot, though. Looks like Ned gets some good use out of it as well. If you get the one with seats in the back, does that mean you can’t carry “stuff” in it (no room)?

  • @darthbiker2311

    I'm late to he party here but have you heard of anyone modding their Chariot into 3-wheel cruiser? I know the Chariot is basically a motorcycle with a wheelbarrow at the back, but I've seen some models (might not be Rusi though) that had only three wheels. Might be an interesting project.

    Few tips for you. Install 2 or 4 shock absorbers(common hydraulic shocks) Rusco Suzuki type.
    Without weight on back?......it will always be bumpy. Load 100kg sand bags.....that will make it 50% better. Little extra fuel consumption is worth it.
    Install a wide angle rearview mirror in front of you in cab. Near the top. Won't need side mirrors if you do so.

    Ok Bud here is a very good tip if money is tight and as there are no sandblasters there in Duma. Go to city hardware get a wire brush scrub the rust then apply acetone nail polish to the rust with a rag then get a can of under coat spray then spray the rust then get some red paint to match.A panel beater told me that tip 25yrs ago and i thought no way it wont work etc. I also used it on my father in laws multi cab in cebu and years later no issues.The really bad spots like in the square tubing can just be cut out and a new piece re welded in.The problem with philippines is the climate,environment and the salt air rust the cars.
