5.9 Cummins P2149 Injector Solenoid Diagnostics - WaY Out Here

DIY explanation of diagnosing a P2149 code resulting in a bad injector solenoid, and how to replace just the solenoid to get you off the road, or from being stuck wherever you are.
Note: This is for a "get you off the road" how-to video. Injector solenoids are very precise on the adjustment of the spring pressure and should be sent to a qualified shop to correctly adjust.

I just change the solenoid #4 do you know how many inch pounds should be ?? Thanks man this video helped a lot

I’m currently on the side of the road about 400 miles from my house almost had picked up the load I’m on mile from pick up and my truck that code came on and it started like because I know once the code comes on it goes into like that safe mode and turns off your injectors I’m trying to figure out when it happened to you did you lose power and started sounding weird like kind of like a helicopter

Hey, hope you were able to fix it. My truck did the same thing where it sounded like a loud Helocopter/tractor noise with check engine light. I Replaced all of my injector wiring harnesses and now going to do the solenoid since the problem came back. Ordered off of Amazon

I've never heard of a solenoid ejecting from the injector. That's some serious pressure, but from where?

I'd talk to a qualifed injector shop. I've never heard of this situation.

I've one with the P2149 code that has no injector fault. when cutting out cylinder 4,5 or 6 it cuts the entire group. Load tested all wires from ecm and all are good...I'm at a loss

I have p2149 also. I recommend replacing the injector wiring harness and solenoid
