They're road dogs for sure. That perfect playing comes from talent of course, but also years and years and years of relentless, constant touring. That's why there are so many live videos of them uploaded by fans.

Jinjer is an addiction. They are awesome live,
I really love this song, my favorite from Macro. Watching the official video, which is awesome, and thinking of Tatianas last deep growl, then I was wondering,, how is she gonna do that amazing growl live? I underestimated her! That last growl live is as deep but tree times longer!
I was lucky enough to be at that gig in Kiev, one of the best experiences of my life.
Have again one suggestion for you:
Vintersea, a blackened Melodic death metal band. They opened a couple of gigs for Jinjer in November 2019 in Portland.
    The song is Illuminated.

I have had many requests for Scissors, that is planned for this week for sure. I love going back and seeing where bands started. You look at a band like A7X with their last album and you wouldn't even believe it is almost all of the same members that did Sounding Of The Seventh Trumpet, not even the same genre of music. Definitely excited to check it out.

I’ve been down the Jinjer rabbit hole for three years. The goosebumps don’t stop. They’re amazing, and it’s crazy how many people are still sleeping on this band. In a way, it still feels like our little club for the moment. Before long, they’ll blow up and the days of them being able to do mass meet & greets and picture/signing sessions with the fans on show days will be a thing of the past. I’ll never forget how gracious and real they were every single time I’ve had the chance to say hi and get a picture. It’s easy to root for good people like the players and crew of Jinjer.

4:33 great frame to pause on while talking about the guys' musical skills. ;) I think they rolled the money they made doing headlining tours of North America and Europe into the upgraded stage production with those screens. There are two versions, and so far they've only been able to bring them to European shows, mostly with the smaller form of the screens. The graphics they are displaying here are based on the studio music video - it is a really well done video and well worth watching, though if you only react to one, the live in Kiev version is definitely the one to react to. The studio video to Retrospection has some good views of the smaller screens, including one clip where they are setting them up showing how they are put together. Retrospection is a beautiful video with a lot of homage to their fans. The original song is a tribute to their parents but they extend it to the found family of the band and the extended family of their fans in the video - every metal band should have a video with baby pictures haha. ;)

You're not wrong about the facial expressions changing with her switch in vocal technique, but I've often seen her flash a smile at the crowd during a second long break in her extreme vocals. "Judgement and Punishment" live in Melbourne and "Who is Gonna be the One" official live are just two examples of this. For an otherwise shy introvert, Tatiana seems to really enjoy her time on stage. For all the hard work and amazing song writing this band does, they all deserve to enjoy their time in the spotlight.

The "secret" to sound as good live as in the records is to record as if you were playing live and not do things in the studio that you know you won't be able to replicate live. This is what they did with Macro. : )

  • @Dark__Thoughts
    @Dark__Thoughts 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I also highly recommend the official video for this one, which is one of their best, especially if you liked the effects on the screens. Doesn't have the cool fade out growl though. :D
And yes, Tatiana is an amazing performer, not just vocally, but she also has a killer stage presence and is frankly almost hypnotic to watch, with how she emphasizes the words in the lyrics through her body language (and facial expression). Some of it is actually super subtle and something you don't even notice too much at first, but check back on Pisces and for example notice how she moves like a fish in certain parts, or how she got that predator look before she drops into the last heavy vocals at the end. Super weird to see such a good entertainer when you know that she is actually kinda anxious and shy, literally getting the sweats during interviews.
I can kinda growl using my vestibular folds, but not much, nor to the point where I could "sing", because good lord does that need a lot of air, which I just don't have the breath control for, with or without diaphragm support. I'd probably be hyperventilating trying to chain words together.

If you like seeing the way her expressions change you should watch when they do Pisces live. Here is a fan vid from Mexico that shows that really well: th-cam.com/video/AEDNYq3VqQM/w-d-xo.html
Edit: Some of their official live videos might have some post production because they are official and essentially a music video. This one especially because it was going to be part of a live dvd before they decided not to use this concert for the dvd. If you want to hear their true raw sound -no layering, no touchups, no autotune, nothing I would recommend Pisces live at Full Force th-cam.com/video/qSLnkkDK17g/w-d-xo.html this one I believe was live streamed, so the audio is straight from the soundboard, no post editing.
Don't worry, you won't be disappointed, it's every bit as good, they still perform at the level you saw in this video, but it sounds more like a raw live show and less like a polished music video.

    Great reaction.
If you want to explore more Jinjer you can choose the way depending on what would you'd like to hear:
    1. Some older stuff. It's more about the metalcore (if we are able to set the bounds for Jinjer). I call that period "Tati with dreds".
In that case try "Scissors", "Outlander", "Exposed as a liar" and others.
And of course there was great lyrics video "No hoard of value".
    2. Some newer stuff. It's more about progressive metal. With a different unexpected vibes as reggae, jazz or bosa nova.
In that case try "Judgment and Punishment", "Teacher, Teacher", "On the Top", "Retrospection" etc.
    3. Some stuff "in the middle". It was the period when Tati cut off her dreds. So in some videos she has dreds, in other she hasn't.
There was such tracks as "Who's gonna be the one", "Cloud factory", "Sit, Stay, Rollover", "Captain Clock" and others.
I'd say "Who's gonna be the one"(live) would be a best for the next step.
