Now this looks great! This is the kind of smooth scrolling one associates with the Commodore 64, and I always wondered if it was something that was beyond the Atari 8-bits' abilities. Fortunately, it seems once again that anything is possible to the right, skilled programmers. I hope this little project is successful.
Thanks for the kind words, mate... :) The Atari 8-Bitters are actually more capable of smooth scrolling than the C64 is, in my opinion. Much easier to create in ASM code there... Its biggest bottleneck is the 128 chars of graphics, imho. But you can work around that.
Wonderful code and graphics! So much potential.
happy holidays! seems a nice game beginning 🎅
Great pixel art!
Nice!
Thanks for showing this off, mate... :)
Reminds me of Daze Before Christmas on Sega Genises.
Looks great. Love the Atari 8-bit graphics.
That looks amazing!!! Is that done on a regular specification 8bit? What screen mode is that with all those colours?
Antic4 with some DLI magic... And yes, that's a plain 64k Atari...

That's looking great 👍
Is this being developed further into a full game?
Not really the ambition here.. More of a test case for my Atari engine tech :) . I will add a few additional things over time maybe... ;)
very nice graphics!
