Al Capone is also the main reason why expiration dates were put on milk cartons/bottles, because his niece grew ill due to tainted milk.. The Capone family actually had a big hand in the dairy industry in the 1930's.
Yeap he was hated and loved by people he had soup lines set up to feed the hungry aswell. And like you said he had expiration dates put on milk bottles. He was in the Dairy business and the liquor business good business man giving the people what they want lol
give thanks to Al Capone every breakfast time
Yes. His brother Ralph was known as “Bottles” Capone because he owned a bottling plant and was involved in the business as a cover.
Interesting!!
@@erickrohn2970 al capone was more complicated than people knew ultimately he was a very astute business man who knew what the people wanted , as well as being ruthless with his business empire.
I used to be a funeral director and we buried people in Mount Carmel Cemetery all the time. I would always stop and visit Capone before I left.
I used to want to be a mortician but changed and became a medical examiner and Forensic Pathologist. Have a great Thursday 😊
@@leesashriber5097 Really?! I'll be returning back to school to be a Pathologist Tech next year!
Thank you
Michael and Jessica got one of the best shows going on the net love this stuff
They recently vandalized Al Capones grave like a week ago. The spray painted the word “evil” on his headstone
Thanks
Love how you guys edited in the older footage to show the columns etc. Thanks for all the hard work you do on your channel for all of us.
Thank you for watching…and comments like this mean a lot. Thank you.
Saaaaaaaaaammmeee
My husband and I just took a trip to Las Vegas and visited the Mob Museum. We saw the brick wall, some photos of the massacre and some of the bullets that we’re removed from the bodies. The museum was pretty interesting, there’s a lot to see. I recommend visiting there if you’re in Las Vegas.
Amazing experience. I went in 2018. So interesting seeing the wall from this event. I was in that museum for hours and highly recommend it to everyone.
And there is a speakeasy they will give you a code and when you go down you give them the code and you get in I really want to go sometime.
I was in Chicago (From UK) for my birthday this November. I did this site and HH Holmes murder castle in Englewood. Absolutely fascinating. You should come to Britain, you would be spoiled for historical crime choice.
I always remember the poor dog that was there during the massacre. His name was Highball and he belonged to John May the mob members mechanic who was also killed. It was his constant barking that brought neighbors to the gruesome scene. He was so traumatized they eventually had to put him down. Today would be a different story but being it was 1929...Sad.
I lived in Chicago for years, and I often heard people talk about how dogs were skittish in that part of the street, even refusing to walk past the area, even though the garage itself was gone.
@@dougspidermanhappy I heard that too. 😳
I believe it! When I moved out of my parents to a place up the block, by where my neighbor’s dog got hit by a car, my dog, who I keep ay my parent’s place due to more room for him, almost refuses to budge past that little stretch of rd, when I walk him to my place regularly on my days off.
@@dougspidermanhappy Yes, I go there all the time and I constantly hear a dog barking where the garage stood. It is obvious the dog's soul is haunting that neighborhood. BOW WOW, BOW WOW, BOW WOW.
Man, that scene from the movie was brutal.
My grandmother lived in Cicero and was friends with Capone. She said he was adamant that he did not have any involvement with the massacre...
And that was his story and he was sticking to it 😉
Because Al Capone would definitely tell your grandmother “yup it was me miss martha”
For the mafia business was business no matter how violent it was lol 😂
lol OK.
Because I'm sure he would have just come out and told your grandmother his business.
He absolutely did but not in person. He went to Florida on purpose so they wouldn’t think he did. Vincenzo Gibaldi was his main shooter and was one of the guys there that day.
Great vid. A historian girl on PBS’s “History Detectives” got to shoot one of the two Thompson machine guns ballistically linked to the massacre. she was trying to verify if a shotgun she was investigating was the one also used. She made a compelling case that it was.
I remember that show! You have a good memory. 🎶watching the detectives🎶
That dog which was left unharmed was named "high ball". If that dog could only talk.
Thanks!
I am just seeing this now. Thank you so much for this, and thank you for watching. Happy Halloween 🎃
If you look on the wall of the house next door you can see the outline of the old garage. Really cool, thx.
I live on Miami Beach, FL and I have been to his home here on Miami Beach where he died in 1947. Sadly, the demolition permit have been submitted for his Florida home to be demolished by the new owners in 2023. It's sad that a piece of history will be gone.
From ft Lauderdale I've only been to the "island" in Deerfield beach
😮 Awwww,.. man... that really stinks... if I were a millionaire I would buy it and restore it! Wow...
Thumbs up like and shared love ❤ this stuff. 👍.
They have the entire wall from the massacre at the mid museum in Vegas. It's neat to touch and think about what happens up against that wall
I was there in June, and the history of not only Al Capone but of the people buried in mt. Carmel, is fascinating. Very beautiful cemetery
My cousin has worked there for 11 years & unfortunately people mess with it CONSTANTLY. 2x/week a crew is dedicated to adding grass/grass seed, or adjusting the mud in front of his grave (due to weather.)
Soooo many people constantly visit his stone (among others, but he's obviously #1) IDK why they made his grave so easy to get to and access, but the traffic never slows down. I have family buried there and it never fails to get worse around the holidays when people are going to visit their loved ones. I guess they feel like "hey, why not check out Capones grave while were here...."
Like the vid one thing I will add is mayor Dailey had the building tore down in 1967 I believe.
So glad to see more Chicago adventures 🙌
I finally got TH-cam set up on my tv. I'm watching this video right now on my TV and it's awesome
I had seen a program that was covering the autopsies of the victims and it was found that some of them ( maybe all ) had chest wounds resulting from the . 45 caliber bullets bouncing off the wall and re - entering their bodies . Great video as always you guys !! , keep up the great work and stay safe out there . ❤ from Baltimore Maryland
Interesting.
I am also from just outside the city of Baltimore
Love the vibe of your videos and the way you tell a story
Love these videos of history
I was born and raised in Chicago. I absolutely loved growing up. Cool , old buildings, great museums and the best food. I moved in 2007 because I got tired of the frigid winters. There is so much history there. I read that the area where the St Valentines Day massacre took place is haunted. Thanks for the story.
When the Massacre site was being demolished in 1967 or 1968,the demolition crew was giving away some of the bricks. My Family had two of them. The site itself was up for Landmark Status, but then Mayor Daley demanded it be torn down.Daley didn,t want any reminders of Capone in Chicago.Mr.Capone himself actually might still be buried at Mt.Olivet.According to historians and my High School History teacher. The Grave stone at Queen of Heaven might be a Cenopath.Who really can say where he really is?Great Video Mike and Jessica, great seeing videos from My old hometown.
Your theme music rocks! proper!
Excellent video tour of North Clark Street massacre site
Fantastic! I am gonna be in Detroit next year and have a couple day Chicago trip the middle. A must stop for sure.
I just love this channel.
Great video! Al Capone was the best man at my great great uncles wedding.
Hi guys, that was a fantastic video. I've heard about the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and Al Capone, my goodness what a fantastic video. Thank you so very much. ♥️ ♥️
I live around the corner from here and JUST heard about the massacre yesterday. New favorite channel for sure!
always wanted to see the site. Thanks
michael;and jessica cool as hell this very intresting vlog about al capone well done to u both happy halloween
You should've visited the museum as well where they have a brick with a bullet hole in it taken from the garage
Cheers to you both from the "Burgh."
Fun Fact: Al Capones older brother James Vincenzo Capone who changed his name to Richard James Hart was a prohibition agent. So you had a Capone on each side of the law.
HE ALSO WAS IN MOVIES IN HOLLYWOOD THATS HOW THE CAPONE LOCATED HIM AFTER HE HAD LEFT AND BEEN GONE YEARS
Excellent video!
i remember hearing about this but never thought i'd see a video on it
That was a cool, informative video! I have a grandmother buried in Mt. Carmel, btw. And Capone had a couple of homes in Cicero, Ill as well! Great video!
Very cool. Thank you.
Good documentary you put on.always liked the movie..
Please Never stop making videos. I learned so much history from this channel.
Another great video to add to your collection
Came through with another great video 🔥👍🏻
I really like how you show how it was then, and how it is now.
Great video guys.
Nicely told and very factual. I like how you super-imposed the garage picture next to the columned building. It is said that the massacre was a big mistake. It so upset the general public that it began the downfall of Al Capone.
Great video thanks brother 💨
Thank you for another very cool Grimm life collective episode until next time 👻👻
Chilling to see the area where the garage was!🌛
Very interesting! Keep up the good work. I always look forward to you videos.❤
Great video you guys are great
I saw the garage just before they demolished it when I was 5 years old.
Interesting story! Thx for that.
Great video! That’s scary!
Brilliant video, showing old photos of the garage next to the modern-day house with the pillars. I love It
Great video, as always! My grandmother's neighbor was in Bugs Moran's gang and supposedly just missed the massacre because he was late. One of the few that survived that lifestyle and lived to old age.
Cold for you two ! Always appreciate your content.
Michael & Jessica u too be on point yall craft 👌 much love I watch the valentine massacre movie 🎬 last month u guys are super awesome 👌 💖
Thanks guys very interesting video x
Love all this history still loads more of your vids to catch up on thanks so much Michael and Jessica
Another great video. Lots of mobsters in Mt Carmel. So glad you mentioned the wall being in the Mob Museum in Las Vegas. It is really amazing to see. I think that museum is one of the best museums anywhere. If you haven’t been, it’s a must see when in Vegas. You can actually still eat at Capones favorite restaurant in Chicago. Very cool place, lots of Capone stuff to see there. Good food too!
You both awesome !!!
🎥🎞🎬😝✌️🚀🚀🥁🥁💫🍫
enjoying your videos from glasgow keep up the good work
Fascinating!!!!👍🙏🏽☠️
I did a paper on gangsters/mobsters in college and Al Capone was one of them. He led such an interesting life. Thanks for covering this you guys!
Enjoy your Chicago adventures 🖤
Woah! That murder was so cruel! The movie scene really gave me the chills... 😱

I thoroughly enjoy these videos! To the time machine MARTY!!!!!! I love the way you both articulate these stories.

I just visited Capones grave yesterday.

Was waiting for a video about the Valentines Day Massacre!
super cool love watching yall fun fact my great grandmother cleaned Capones mothers home and talked about how he was such a gentleman
Great photos and shot line Ups!🌛
♥️♥️♥️
In July 2023, I spent week doing videos for my FB page, Joe Drops In. Lincoln heights was a favorite area, including the St. Valentine's Day Massacre as well as Al's hangouts downtown. I ate dinner at the pizza place across the street. Great video, filled in some of my blanks. Also visited Al's real grave at Mt. Carmel.
You two are really travelers and manage to look great doing it, love you guys!
#HH #grimmlifecollective
Thank you nva. We have devoted everything we do to this.
Last week, someone defaced his grave with red spray paint. You can see it still there a little butnwas washed off. Thanks for shedding light on some great history of our home! Love it! ❤️
Great video
I am intrigued by the mobsters of the 20s and 30s. I grew up in Dallas, Texas. We lived a mile from Bonnie Parker’s old school. A bunch of us kids would go to that school and play around not knowing it’s history.
There was a fence in front of the site where the garage was that was knocked down when lightning fell a tree near it earlier this year. I hope the reason that it hasn't been replaced is that they're planning to sell the lot for a condo or something. That's a sacred spot in Chicago.
Great video you two. Next time you're in Chicago, my hometown, check out some of the Ripper crew murder locations. They were a group of young guys that killed 18 people in the Chicago area, in the early 80's. One of them was the last person executed in Illinois, before they abolished the Death Penalty.
I live in the UK England.. Al capone is famous here too.. Thank you for sharing x ❤️ 🙂
RIP Capone family
Nice video. There was another witness that survived, a German Shepherd named Highball that was owned by John May, a victim of this unsolved crime.
I enjoyed this video because it brought me back to learning about Al Capone and the St. Valentines Day Massacre in High School.
Born and raised in MKE, so close yet so far from such astounding history. Family rumor for me: My dad's Aunt dated a Capone crony for some time. 😧 No One had/has heard from her or seen her since. 🥺💔 Mob stories of CHI & MKE are crazy. Thanks for another great episode 👏 🖤🧡
I live near San Francisco and I like to read up on al capone and stuff he did. Great video, love you both🖤
Thanks for sharing.
Good vid.
That was so interesting. Thank you, Michael and Jessica, for telling this story I never knew. So interesting.
Just love the grimmlife, keep em coming
Another great video by the Grimm Life Collective
you guys are great storytellers. Thanks as always for the hard work
Opening a music store on Clark Street back in the 90s I visited the site of the St Valentine Day Massacre which is no longer there I was bummed great video
