- Honda Ruckus is a small, economical 50cc moped built for city commuters or anyone who wants to travel but doesn't have a license. Honda is synonymous with modification, and even with this scooter, people push them over the top with style. Some of you may say "Buy a real bike" or "You're gay, you like mopeds," but everyone knows you don't buy one to be fast. The reason you buy one is because they're practical, get 100 miles per gallon, and with the Ruckus, you get to be unique. Maybe you don't like them, maybe you do, but either way you'll look at the Honda Ruckus a little differently after this.

Honda Ruckus awesome i respect your opinion haha, i say Yamaha aerox 94cc is 10 times awesome if i compare to that plus it is quicker
you can get a used stock honda ruckus for around a 1000 euros change the engine with a new 150cc gy6 engine for around 350.. big bore to 232cc for around 150.. fuel injection and a new exhaust lets round it off to around 2000.. there you go, they are not that expensive.

I thought about getting one of these how reliable are they once you start modifying the motor I'm a big guy at six foot one and two hundred and fifty pounds. I don't mind it going 35 or 40 but I know it won't go that fast stock with me on it
+mzondi1970 Yeah these are usually very reliable regardless of what you do to them and still manage to maintain the 100+ MPG even with a 150cc GY6 swap. If you do plan to modifying one and want a little extra speed, I'd recommend the GY6 engine swap kit from DrowSports.com because it's one of the most reliable and genuine kits around. Just google "DrowSports GY6" and it should pop up easily.
+NoPointOfThis123 I'm sorry but the GET motor is far better ( reliable ) than a crappy Chinese 150cc. I own a tiffany blue stanced out ruckus ( get ) and all I see is people blowing up Chinese motors lol
Joshua Moss Yeah fair enough but Honda designed the GY6 originally for one of the 150cc scooters that isn't the Ruckus, so I would go for one if they can even be found in the world of clones anymore.

Wow insane! I just could never justify spending this kind of money on a scooter. You could probably have bought a sick sport bike for this amount. also good luck trying to sell this at some point it will be hard getting much for it and that's if you can find someone. None the less great ride!
They actually have great resale value. A brand new, '16 Ruckus is $2600. On CL in my area, the lowest price for a ruckus is $1700, and that's for a stock '03. A 13 year old scooter is still being listed for more than half of what it's worth new. Not to mention, all the heavily modded Ruckuses are listed at 3k and up.
again. Lol idk why people compare these to sport bikes.. honda ruckus is a cruiser and about STYLE. a lot of people like my self.. are more into creating something unique and not buy something off the lot and brag about a stock bike. lol
How chassis made for 49cc engine going to support better with safety by modifying it with expensive components? Had it been so, Honda engineers and other OEM would have done it in the first place. BTW super Ruckus with 250 CC is no longer made by Honda. What does it indicate?🙄 I am not against making it little comfortable or adding some safety signs to be more visible to ongoing traffic, letting you know that all working parts are ok or need repair or seat more comfy.
I'd love to build a ruckus as a project but the import prices from America to England will be immensely expensive :(

These things arent expensive... if you stretch it lower it put a 232cc Big Bore Kit in it and put everything you possibly could imagine on the bike, including paint and everything you're looking at around 10,000 dollars... same price as a honda civic...

Yeah anything over 49cc would be required to have registration as a motorcycle. Unless you register it as a moped and swap the engines after. I've seen loads of people do that but just don't get caught lmao. Otherwise, yes, you would need a motorcycle license.
