It's insane to think that this was "just" an award show performance. BTS really set a whole new standard with this one. 💜

❣️Jimin’s solo performance, wearing a modernized hanbok just fastened by ties only, had many different dance elements in it! Including the barrel leaps taken from Korean dance elements, some martial arts elements, (trained for 8 yrs in various forms w/blackbelt in Taekwondo), & of course contemporary dance. Also, equally ever so stunningly outstanding, was Jimin's scarf work, which is alone so hard to master, without getting that ever so thin veil of a scarf all tangled! Jimin somehow was able to make the scarf one with himself, using it as an extension, even at one point when he did that amazing jump leap straight up the scarf becoming his wings!! Jimin's whole performance was so amazingly stunningly beautiful. Just so effortlessly breathtakingly mesmerizing to see!! Though the other members did a version of their solo performances for benefit of the live audiences, for the broadcast version as seen here, viewer see the prerecorded version, that was prerecorded the day before, since especially JK’s performance in water with that heavy tank that weighed a ton wouldn’t be able to maneuver for live audience, as well as some of the other effects seen like for Mikrokosmos, also the part with the horses was obviously prerecorded as a safeguard for the horses. It also gave a chance for BTS come up for air as well as give them time to change. Jimin was the only one who didn’t have the benefit of prerecorded VCR, which meant that for his solo performance by the broadcasted version, viewers saw Jimin perform live only. While the broadcast version showed for rest of members the prerecorded version. But once again the live audience did get an opportunity to see BTS members do a version of their solos.
How does anyone top this ever!? I absolutely love Jimin's dance, he is just an angel and the Dionysus performance was incredible. Also Mikrokosmos is one of my very favourites.

They give their all when they perform, they practice and prepare hard for every performance they show to all the viewers, Army or not. Dionysus is absolutely one of their best performance songs!!! A curiosity about Boy with lov. In the verse where Jin sings "come be my teacher" we see in the choreography Suga pointing at Jhope and vice versa. They do this because Suga taught Jhope how to rap and Jhope taught Suga how to dance when they were trainees.
In music Dionysius each of the 7 members represented differente Greek Gos. Jin was Athena, Suga was Hephaesus or Hades, Hobi was Zeus, Rm was Dionysius, V was Apollo, Jimin was Artemis and Jung kook was Poseidon.

I’ve already watched it a hundred times and I can watch it a million more times!.. And the way Jimin dances, few people can. He is an amazing dancer! You can watch his dance moves forever! He controls his body very well in dance and feels it.. I can say with confidence that he is one of the best dancers in the world! I understand well what beauty is in dance, since I myself have been dancing since I was 5 years old. My dancing experience is almost 20 years, 4 of which professionally. And I see good dancers right away. And his voice is cosmic!.. All the guys have amazing voices - each in their own way! BTS are the best! They are a legend! There were no others like them! No one can compare with them! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
❣️This was from the annual Melon Music Awards, a Korean award show the equivalent to the BBMA’s. BTS swept the awards, thus closed the award show, though many other artists did indeed performed beforehand. The cost of the production for BTS entertainment company BigHit, was over 500K dollars, and all the in-house production team of BigHit started planning it over half a yr beforehand! Also most of the rehearsal time that BTS had was while they were touring worldwide. But they all were quite into doing this, and somehow managed to fit in the rehearsal like they did the yr before. All the solo performances were prerecorded live with smaller audience the day before, with exception to Jimin’s solo performance, who only performed live only, without the benefit of prerecorded VCR, since there was no way to have these stage sets and tank pool of water let alone have JK who was performing the dance in water get dried and change clothes beforehand! BTS did also perform a version of their solos, while the broadcasted version saw the VCR version filmed day before. The only one who performed live only without benefit of VCR being shown,for the broadcasted version, was Jimin, who shows here being the phenomeno breathingly amazing professional dancer which he was before even signing on to BTS. Also certain songs like Mikrokosmos, as well as beginning part of RM’s Persona, was performed live beforehand and also prerecorded so they could also allow for the special effects that only people who saw the broadcast on TV in South Korea or had it stream worldwide could see that version. Also the part with the live horses was filmed beforehand without an audience.

The 7 lights one for each member make up the Crown which is the one in Greek mythology Dyonsis threw into space on his wedding day. You can see the 7 stars that make it although a couple are quite dull in the northern Hemspshire. I've only seen the constellation once. The Constellation is called the Corona Borealis

Portions of this performance were prerecorded. RM's Persona at the beginning, Microkosmos, all the solos except Jimin's, (which is so exceptionally beautiful), and the part with the horses. Absolutely over the top Epic performance!!!

La primera vez que vi los MMA 2019 no me lo podía creer, sabía que BTS era grande y eran buenos en directo, pero esto me dejó impactada al máximo. Y cada vez que veo un reactor favorito como tú que lo ve, lo vuelvo a ver y no me canso, fueron una elección de canciones genial, y en las intro individuales usan canciones míticas del grupo como Fire, Save me, I need you, Fake love, Danger, es emotivo y creativo por igual y de una calidad artística brutal. Y que me dices de Dionysus? La exageración de elementos fue como decir, somos BTS aquellos de los que os burlabais por ser insignificantes, aquellos a los que vetabais en los programas, pues mirar ahora! 😏😂💜
Las intro de cada miembro fueron espectaculares, pero la de Jimin siempre me emociona y me entran ganas de reír y llorar a la vez de todo lo que siento en tan pocos segundos! Es un artista total!

Of course I have watched it several times, and in fact I weep every single time. The first time, I suppose I was a bit like you: I struggled to understand what I was watching ... but it was obvious that this is perhaps the best in the world.
As for how can they encompass what they just did? in fact I suspect that they have rehearsed dozens of times, to the point that it all seems second nature. The work with their dance teams will be just like family having a good game after Sunday lunch. I suspect that a lot of this performance was based on (refined from) their stage show, so they would be familiar with it. Still, I imagine that BTS themselves are as in awe of all the stage management and business with the other performers as we are. Just as much as they love ARMY, they appreciate everyone in their extended teams too - as do I.

So...as a West Indian 'Army Mom' since 2016. Lost track of how many times in the past 5 yrs, checked out 'Baby Armies' reactions to this performance ( Love it. Never gets old) but my question remains the same: As an 'Award performance' in S.Korea - who came NEXT? 🤣🤣
'Cos truthfully. We know they swept those awards but even if MY KPop GROUP (hypothetically) were in 2nd place and slated to perform after BTS? I'd have told my boys "Game Over" LOL. Let's creep out silently - use the back door. So n so Band cannot perform tonight due to sudden illness (or we're in a diff country)....we'll accept whatever by Zoom. I and my band could NEVER compete with The Best Performance by BTS at an award show. To date. Even if we trained for months? lolz......Game Over.
So cannot think of 'who came next'...in this line up. And never checked on Reddit etc 'Who Came Next' but....wouldn't want to be in 'their' shoes and Army....do not come for me. "How you come home after this?"
Well, we got the answer to this question later when BTS's backstage at this awards show was published finally . And then we saw what happened to the BTS members after they destroyed the MMA's stage with this legendary performance. When the lights went out and they finally went behind the stage, We saw Jimin falling on the ground because he couldn't stand on his legs any longer he suffered severe muscle pain in his chest, which also prevented him from moving and he fainted for a while. We saw how J-Hope suffered from muscle spasms and low oxygen. We saw Jungkook screaming in pain because of a wrong move that led to his ankle spraining in the middle of the performance however, he continued dancing with all his strength and Jungkook fainted as well. The staff members were running around in a state of panic to provide urgent aid to the members , Full vials of oxygen were filled to help Jimin, Jungkook, and J-Hope, whose blood pressure suddenly dropped and their breathing was unstable, RM asking for more and more ice packs for his legs and knees, despite being the least flexible but he danced with all his might
....Jin later mentioned on a Live that the members did together that after this show, he suffered from stiffness and terrible pain in his neck for days to the point he couldn't sleep because there is no pillow that helps . Jimin also said in the same live that he had to go to a specialist doctor for the muscle pain in his chest, and he was very afraid that the fans would find him and he end up not going.
.....Also, let us not forget that an old injury in Suga's shoulder developed for the worse after this show , and within a few months he was forced to undergo a surgery and was threatened to leave the group as his ability to dance again was due to the success rate of the surgery
Many other things happened, which RM later summarized when he said that they were recovering well ....
......I personally did not believe when I watched this performance and similar shows by BTS that they were normal human beings, but I discovered that they are actually human beings who suffer and get tired and expose themselves to real danger in exchange for perfection in what they do.
Please where can i watch this? I remember watching behind the scenes but it was just the preparation for this day. Not what happened after.
@@caleec Well, those scenes caused a controversy and a major attack on the agency for not caring enough about the health of the members, and the video for after the performance behind the scenes was deleted from the official BTSbomb channel. You may find random clips posted by some ARMYs, or you may find post-concert clips from Japan's Concert in Tokyo dome, Similar things happened to them at this concert as well .

First time I saw this performance, a random selection off TH-cam that day, I just sat stunned for hours afterwards. Now I have watched reactors see it so many times and everyone has similar reactions that allow me to relive my first watch reaction. Love it. The more you see it, the more you notice as well.

No dear you aren't saying something stupid. I used to wonder the same thing. They aren't doing all the songs at the same time. They are going up after other acts and awards and things. They have time in between. I think that's how it is. I also don't understand how anyone can get hate BTS. They've done nothing or bad that I've heard about. They've worked hard to get where they are. To be the best and they are the best. I guess people are jealous or just plain horrible or miserable and want everyone else to be like them. They are wasting their time. They won't win. Too many people love them and stand by them. ARMY is too many and too strong.

RM is the Leader, what a sexy brain! I think we have passed boy band and moved into Band. BTS stands alone, name a group of any genre that's better in pop music. I'll wait... the camera work on J hope is SO bad. you miss all the popping and small intricate isolation movements because the camera is much to far away.
