Fehlerlose und wunderschöne Interpretation dieser ein hundert fein oder perfekt komponierten Tastensonaten in verschiedenen Tempi mit klar artikuliertem doch zugleich anmutigem Klang des technisch perfekten Cembalos und mit sorgföltig kontrollierter Dynamik. Wahrlich genialer und unvergleichlicher Cembalist!

Domenico Scarlatti , grazie al padre Alessandro ( troppo dimenticato) e anche all'ancor più dimenticato Bernardo Pasquini, ha portato la sonata clavicembalistica a livelli di altissima perfezione , stimolato anche dalla brillantezza della musica spagnola/portoghese , con sonorità riferibili alla chitarra. Le sue sonate sono in un tempo unico, con movimento mosso o allegro e con venature malinconiche. La forma è bipartita , ma in alcuni casi comprende due temi, precorrendo la struttura della sonata moderna , bitematica e tripartita. Le sonate di Scarlatti sono perfette anche se eseguite con la fisarmonica bajan, con sonorità mantenute o ampliate per mezzo del mantice .
Having already recorded the complete keyboard works of Couperin and Rameau, Scott Ross was working on recording all of the keyboard works of J.S. Bach. (He was also a first--rate organist.) Sadly, he died before he could finish that monumental project.

Meticulous is an interesting description! I feel the same way here as with Bach--the intro, body and conclusion of every work is impeccably balanced, to the note.

Careful analysis of Scarlatti’s work’s shows he was as meticulous as JS Bach. Love Ross’ interpretations

He even has a distinct style of counterpoint, just listen to pieces like k.67, k.293 and k.386. Just to name a few
