As a Russian citizen I feel shame and anger, and I simply don’t know what to do. Russians weren’t in control of their country for too many decades to fight the oppressive regime, and here’s what happened. I don’t believe that he will stop, and we shall all brace ourselves. The worst is yet to come. All I know for sure that this, as all things, shall pass. And no one lives forever, this is the only thought that comforts me right now. Thank you for the music, Matt. I just want people to remember that we did not choose this and never voted for this madman.

This gives me hope to hear- the Russian people who are standing up and see what's wrong with what this maniac is doing. Just as Solzhenitsyn is known as a hero, so are the people who defy Putin

Matt, I've been to your concert in Ivano-Frankivsk back in December 2019. You might or might not remember my friend being an absolute fanboy for solid 10-15 minutes afterwards. We're still here in Ukraine doing what we can. Just wanted to say it was one of the best nights in my life and thank you so much for everything, including this one. Cheers.

Thank you for sharing that. I remember having a wonderful time. I'm so sad, angry and frustrated about what is happening, but I'm glad you're safe and I hope one day to return again.

I'm Russian, and this situation is utter shit. No one believed it could happen and yet it did. If I the public had any control, Putin'd be out of office. My heart goes out to Ukraine, we cannot ask you to forgive us, simply to hold strong.

thank you for speaking out and to every Russian that shows their clear dissent against the actions of Putin's attack on Ukraine. It's incredibly significant. I hope you will be safe. Peace from Australia.

Another series of dark days to be remembered by children. Another vacuum for their innocence. The machine is restless ...

Hi Matt. i was watching an interview with a Ukrainian child today and was reminded of the characters from Turtles Can Fly, a film that was so hard to watch i don't think i can bear to go through with it again. It focusses on the impact of war on children, especially orphans. Thinking about the fate of children and the little boy i saw who may have seen his father for the last time, I'd like to thank you for sharing this piece. It does evoke the depth of chaotic pain in that child's eyes that leapt from the screen. Beautiful sad eyes ringed with purple full of confusion and fear.
My heart is heavy. i felt he probably won't ever see his father again. The 21st century is horrible so far. Appreciate your music and the catharsis.. Sublimating pain is one of the only things we can do at this stage. Thank you for the humanity. A lot of music doesn't feel right in the circumstances.

I don't know if it's intentional but the song feels like it's carrying the melodies from the east. Fabulous!

The main theme is based on this melody by Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko th-cam.com/video/-GeqPJ0bZNg/w-d-xo.html

Bella y conmovedora música para este momento en donde las palabras no pueden expresar nuestro horror frente a la brutalidad de la guerra. Gracias Matt Elliott.

Shivers and tears. They are beautiful, very brave people. They deserve for this beauty from you,but not for pain and darkness they and their country receieve.

Dude, we are all helpless, and that's the most tragic thing. already you are doing something by recognizing the shit of the situation and speaking out against it.

Thank you for speaking out and to every other Russian who shows that they do not accept Putin's aggression. You are worth living in this world. Please hang in there. It's not your fault. We know Putin doesn't allow a political opposition. Please keep your spirits up. Russians and Ukranians both are our brothers and sisters. No one hates Russians generally, it's on Putin. Your comment means a lot. If you have the wherewithal, please continue to tirelessly spread this message that Russians want PEACE. Love from Australia. ❤️
