    My problem is once the panic attack subsides I dwell on it fearing another one and that’s how it takes over your life!

    My first panic attack was at the age of 5. My mother started my bath water and left the bathroom and I freaked out. I ran out of the house naked, screaming “it’s gonna float”. 😂 It’s funny to me now but I was terrified we were all going to drown if she didn’t watch the bath water. My mother was a prisoner of her fear. She was agoraphobic throughout my childhood. But I try not to let my fears control me. I haven’t had a full blown panic attack in maybe a year, but I do still have anxiety attacks. Driving is a big trigger for me especially if I’m caffeinated and driving somewhere I am not familiar with. 😬

    If I drink caffeine, I have panic attacks. I stopped drinking coffee and my panic attacks stopped completely.

      Hmmm i have a habit of drinking tea in the evening. I will try to stop this bad habit. My panic attacks often happen in the evenings or late nights.

    I have them daily and they last for hours. They make my feel dizzy, off balance, heart racing, body weakness, soooo many symptoms.

      Ashley O the dizziness and the tingling/numbness in my limbs are what scare me the most about panic attacks. Driving triggers it so I’m always afraid I’m going to pass out or wreck. 😬 I’ve managed to control my attacks for the most part just through meditation and self help books. Are you doing anything in way of treatment?

      Same.... i even get chest pains. And i need a whole day to recover. I cant work in a normal job coz no employer will tolerate my inability to function for such long periods of time. My condition has forced me to learn new skills so i can work from home on my own schedule and ability and be my own boss.

      SpiritDragoness I guess in some sense it’s good you’ve learned new skills, but I really hope you don’t allow your fears to control your life. I’ve seen first hand what shutting out the world can do to a person. It’s best to keep facing your fears and find new ways of coping. It gets easier over time but you do have to allow yourself to experience the panic to overcome the panic. Hiding from it doesn’t make it go away. It only makes the fear grow.

      The Truth i dont hide, i still socialize. I just cant be a reliable employee, but i still need to do something to sustain myself and my family. Most of my friends know my situation and are understanding, so i dont have to hide. I dont isolate myself.

    Hi. Very interesting video. What about when you know the cause of the anxiety. People. Like social anxiety. Fear of speaking to people 😞

    I have panic attacks a lot almost every day almost every night almost every morning and it’s mostly because of the source of some of the trauma I’ve had in the past but for the most part when you have a panic attack it’s like you can’t move it’s like you’re trapped in a box that’s so dark that it’s unbearable it’s like you’re not able to breathe you’re not able to see yourself instead you’re seeing a monster instead you’re seeing a crybaby and when you have a panic attack you feel like you can’t breathe if you feel like you’re dying you feel like you’re nobody you feel like no one’s gonna care you feel like if I’m having this why am I having this panic attack or anxiety attack but for the most part I hate panic attack so much because they make me feel so bad

      cindyasters thats what I thought!! Seconds?!! That’s NOTHING ...please. Mine last hours or days as well and are COMPLETELY debilitating. I can’t function.

    I am a 15 year suffer of agoraphobia. I am a 56 year suffer of panic disorder. I have been poked, proded, xray'ed, scanned and MRI'd to death. I have seen therapists, tried medication, participated in a dozen programs that claim to help anxiety and panic disorders and still I suffer. I have multiple degrees, I can not work. Today for example I have been so dizzy I can not stand, so I have spent all day in bed...just writing this makes me nauseous. I now suffer from multiple body sensations that they tell me are related to the stress over time I have been going threw. I feel like I am drowning.

      Debbie Ford 🙁 I’m sorry for what you’re going through. My mother has suffered with panic attacks and agoraphobia for most of my life and I’m 39. I also had panic attacks my whole life and in watching my mother I was determined not to allow my fear control me like that. I’ve never seen a therapist or taken any medication because that was what my mother did and nothing worked. It seemed the more she focused on treating her symptoms the worse it got. For me, i read a lot self help books and use awareness and meditation exercises. I try not to give my fear attention. I recognize it’s there but I don’t feed it. This has worked well for me. I haven’t had a full blown panic attack in a year or so. A book I recommended is called “the unteathered soul” by Michael A. Singer. It helped me understand awareness in a way I didn’t before. I wish you the best and I really hope you find something that works for you.

      Debbie Ford i feel you. I feel hopeless same as you. I have had anxiety attacks ass long as i can remember, but its been a little bit more than a year that i have been having debilitating panic attacks after which all i can do is lie in bed coz my body is so exhausted that it refuses to cooperate. So i am still new to this. People have suggested multiple seminars and meditation etc..... i know meditation will not work for me coz i have tried it several times. Currently the options on my list to try is chiropractor and hypnosis. Chiropractor to help me release some of the physical tensions coz after regular and prolonged panic attacks, i feel my body has forgotten how to release the tension in the muscles.... i feel like my body is tight all the time. My hands are so tense, i cant even hold a pen and write.

      SpiritDragoness I completely understand the constant body tension. I have that as well. Hypnosis could work if you’re open to it. I’ve done a lot of self hypnosis. You can find a lot of audios of self hypnosis or guided meditations here on TH-cam. I have social anxieties so I prefer to do everything myself if I can. Lol!

    Excellent topic. I also have this along with depression. Anxiety is no joke. Mel you rock!
