    I’m an American who has been using Signia Pure Charge n Go AX 7 for the last 6 months and everything this fellow says have proven true with me. These are my first hearing aids and I am very pleased. I had started in March with X 7’s and switched over to the AX 7 when it came out. The fit with the AX is much more comfortable than the X. His overview is quite thorough and well presented.

    1 year of use. My AX7 are great, they allow me to understand speech even in noisy environments. All other sounds are also great and crisp clear. Now I can also enjoy birds and annoying plastic bag sound)
    The drawbacks are that their casing plastic is of an exterior quality. They have been heavily rubbed by my glasses. This had never happened before with other aids. They also make unpleasant noise when being touched.
    But in general, the assistant is of a great help, the sound is superior and the battery holds the whole day.

  • @Inspectergadget69
    @Inspectergadget69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Jonathan. You seem besotted with these hearing aids when you did this review. Are you still? I guess with time you perhaps take a step back. I have the Phonak Paradise P90 RIC rechargeable and honestly I am blown away with the bluetooth and connectivity and the ease of use with the ear tap (and Siri functions from the ear tap). The sound quality likewise is outstanding. I did come from three year old Unitron devices which themselves were excellent but I wanted BT connectivity and also better performance in noise, which these give. Your current opinion? I can trial the Signia by the way. I have 90 days with Specsavers to change my mind.

    • @zone1hearing
      @zone1hearing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure who Jonathan is but let me answer! Yes there is very little to fault. The Signia aids will be further enhanced shortly to make them properly handsfree.
      The in the ear version is current technology. Unfortunately it doesn't have the Own Voice Processing or the telecoil but all the other features are available.
      The weak link would be lack of direct connections to Phonak Roger technology (as they aren't Sonova devices) but if you need this technology it should become apparent in a comprehensive hearing assessment.
      We get way more enquiries about these than Phonak as an example the Phonak equivalent in the ear model is non rechargeable and a generation older a single chip and approx a 1/4 of the number of channels.
      We fit what is appropriate, we had a patient with poor processing buy the Phonak aids this week and added 4 Roger devices. Simply put nothing else would have been likely to work.
      Try them (the Signia) , it's ultimately your opinion that counts I can only relay what I think and what my patients have been saying. The Phonak/Unitron connectivity is excellent

    • @Inspectergadget69
      @Inspectergadget69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zone1hearing Hi Matthew. Aside from getting your name wrong and replying to the wrong review…I thought these were the RIC. I had read both reviews of yours. Good reviews by the way. Good to know they will be hands free soon. The Oticon is the other one I could try but I like idea of treating voice separately to other sounds to gain clarity. I will probably try these but I can see Phonak winning still because of the connectivity and ease of use.

    • @zone1hearing
      @zone1hearing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Inspectergadget69 Yes this was for the RIC but I mentioned the ITE's at the end. Oticon More 1 's are also amazing aids and don't worry I have a brother called Jonathan! Thank you for your kind words

      @@zone1hearing I am still working and today I was on my MacBook listening/talking to a zoom call on the HA which was so useful. I could just as easily have connected to my Lenovo Windows laptop. Hands free means you can do a lot more. I can't help feel that this Made For iPhone hearing aids which is just about everything about aside from Phonak/Unitron, restricts connections and is very limiting. I am still on the fence whether it is worth trying the Signia/Oticon even though I can.

    • @zone1hearing
      @zone1hearing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Inspectergadget69 It is definitely a USP for the Sonova devices. This is another reason why we are completely independent. We had one gent try the Phonak P-90 and the Oticon More 1. He preferred the More 1 but went with the P-90 because of the connectivity.

      I have the Rexton from Costco also and love them, I too think they are similar to the AX7. Except that they only have 4 preprogrammed programs. Also, they don't have any tinnitus features? Let me know what you think.

    • @zone1hearing
      @zone1hearing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure if that is a CostCo requirement or just that Rexton being more of a budget brand don’t have it. I have just woken up and as the tinnitus was very distracting put my AX 7’s in with my Ocean Sound overlaying my Universal Program. I also have an additional program with Notch filtering. I think it’s a fairly big thing to be missing but I appreciate not everyone has tinnitus.

    • @zone1hearing
      @zone1hearing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gordon. We think the Super Directional Beam in the AX 7 can be very useful and it is by far our biggest seller. Weirdly our next most popular model is the AX 1 it seems to offer a lot of extra functionality compared to say an NHS aid ie direct streaming and super long rechargeable battery life. Hopefully if you tried a level that wasn't to your satisfaction you would be able to pay the extra and upgrade. The demo aids can be set to any level to help with this decision.

    Has anyone described the noise as ‘tinny’? My husband has had his for about a month and was very happy at the beginning but now says the sound is tinny E.g. if he taps on a table.

    • @zone1hearing
      @zone1hearing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Linda, we haven't had anyone describe them as tinny, but the fact they started off OK but then became tinny makes me wonder if the ear-tips/custom tips are properly inserted? Re the Universal program, you can access a slider between Bass & Treble which should help. Not sure on the privacy setting.

    • @alexmcneily
      @alexmcneily 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a waffle style cone, streaming sounds tinny. Ok for voice, not good for music. If you have a solid cone or stick your finger to block external sound, you will hear higher fidelity.

    I "just" received my Go AX7, and have observed a) "they don't stay in my ear" as easily as the previous aids, b) it "seems" the length of the wire leading to the in-ear receiver is (for me) too short. Could be part of a) above. Finally, c) the "cat's whisker" in-ear retention device is, for me, nearly impossible to install. Plan to go to a Signia approved store to hopefully secure help. I DO think the quality of the audio is far superior to my older Signia devices.

      Hi Kurt, yes with MFI & MFA technology you do typically need to hold the phone or use an intermediary device. I say typically as with ReSound ONE I believe they now have an update to allow hands free calls. For the functionality you require you may also want to look at Phonak Paradise/Unitron Blu as they have made for all technology so have a range of up to 30 ft from the phone. I do prefer the AX 7's for pretty much everything else though so the main part hearing, I would choose those over the Sonova devices. It's possible they could go the ReSound route, but I haven't heard any rumours and I was at a Signia launch event a few days ago so if it was in the pipeline to have handfree phone connection coming imminently I think someone would have mentioned it.
