I'm playing right now and solo this is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure they're using a similar set of triggers to what the razor uses to spawn. I'm trying to loot a police station, nobody is around, but as soon as i start picking they spawn in and try beating down the door to get me. Literally spawning directly on the other side of the door. It's ruining the immersion. I just cleared the main floor and second set of lockers, looked around for 30 seconds, and as soon as i started picking i got hit from behind by the bathrooms, so i think a zombie spawned right there as soon as I started picking. To to it all off, they reset some settings so i have to go through and make sure they didn't change the spawn radius.
I am feeling the exact same way and it’s not like I’m playing solo, this is on official servers, you can clear an area/bunker of zombies and like 5-10 minutes tops they will literally all be respawned almost in the exact same spots for you to kill all over again. Completely immersion breaking and just generally irritating.. Not to mention it’s not like I left the area and came back, no, they literally respawn even if you haven’t left the proximity. It is ridiculous…
Yes there is 2 settings that can help with that but they are working on the problem

I've also know that the puppets can't break or vault through crafted buildings only the prefab buildings, but if you put a lock on the door they can't break down the doors

The autocraft and fast take out of pins and nails is a godsend. So many nice little QoL things this patch. It seemed to me that it dims anything not being used for current craft recipe

People (incl. me) seem confused and a bit overwhelmed by the new horde and character settings, maybe you can go through these at some point? There's such a bunch of new settings to control the normal spawning and horde spawning, it'd be good to know what's what 😅
And also I thought base building and upgrading isn't tied to skills anymore?
Came here for this! What the heck are "characters"? And why is the default -1??
Base Building is connected to your skills because it affects the amount of resources you need to build parts and yes I am busy with a video.

I play your pve server today spawned in after a break made a fire was turning night low con start btw jumped back on from hearing foot steps afk i still hear Radom puppet killed me loving this ! 😀 I guess it was attracted by the fire !!!!!!!!!!

whats hilarious about this codex and survival part of this update is i just bought the game a week ago and started playing and its like handing me the info lmao. its great

No. Click on the Alcohol and then on the rag and right clock on the rag and select disinfect

Horde is broken.
Horde isn't broken. The way puppets spawn in is a bit broken and the settings are difficult to understand.

What does the player model look like when you aim and lean while sitting in the back of a truck? because you're sitting facing the back with your back against the rear windshield, so does the player model look all twisted and contorted when you aim and lean towards the front?
I little but not too much. He just leans over the edge a lot
14:42 I see an incoming test-video, if someone can shoot you through 2 windows ... the front-window and back-window :) With normal ammo, AP, CR or CR\AP ;)

I have no idea why, but the puppets vault through the windows on my SP now. So I'm not sure why they don't do this on your SP unless it something you've changed in the ini. file. My ini. file is vanilla, but that's the only thing I can think of that might cause puppets to not jump through windows.

Yes they can
You can kinda cheese hordes and run away the moment you hear the audio cue then just come back. You have to basically just go immediately so they aggro to the location you were at when they spawn. Due to the cool down and generally quick puppet despawning on populated servers (only really a handful of players) what ends up happening is the horde runs to the spot you were at when triggered then disappears within a few moments and it's pretty quiet for a bit since there's a cool down. It's cheesy

What if I want to reduces hord spawn rate, can I reduce or increase the multiplier to make that happen on a private server. Everyone wants it to be like it was in previous
Think I worded that wrong, do I increase or lower multiplier. It seems that I'd lower the number but the box turns red when I do.
You can lower it to 0.1. Just cant go into a minus
So the puppets can jump through the windows again? Oh bugger!

They messed up the spawning system entirely.. do they not play test their own game?
Hopefully they will fix it soon. Only thing that isn't great in this update
just have to say if you ever consider turning zombie sounds off during recording then playing your videos on second monitor would be much kinder on my anxiety.

I would love for you to do a brief video explaining the NPC server settings. Their descriptions when you mouse over each option are so vague and confusing. I just want similar single player settings to the meat grinders zombie settings

I wanted to buy scum this weekend, I’ve been watching videos but this is the most recent video I’ve seen. First one for this update. Is the spawning really different? Do you still see the puppets outside and stuff or do they just stand there like dummies until you do something?
@@ForkZandKniveZ7 i wouldn't buy it yet. The zombie spawning in most servers i've played is ridiculously game breaking. Having zombies spawning on your head is not something to get used to IMO. They have to change this system. Such a shame because i love most other aspects of scum
@@DiscoBiki I already did a couple weeks ago and yep the zombie spawns are frustrating and immersion breaking. I got run up on by one random zombie in the middle of nowhere. I was cooking food alone with nothing around and then boom

It damages all vehicles unless the update changed it
