  • I’ll be reviewing a Husqvarna 460 Rancher Chainsaw today. We’ll take this out of the box, put together, and gas it up. After the unboxing we'll take it outside and cut up some logs. It was raining a bit, but still cut just fine.

      I'm just not sure how to take that. I quit drinking in 87, and wouldn't vote for the orange ahole if my life was on the line. Of course if I was still a drunk, I might feel differently. After thinking about it, I guess not. It would take some psychedelics for that.

    Don’t buy in to all of the guys that are pro Stihl, Echo and Makita etc! They are all good if taken care of and maintained. I have a Husqvarna 350 that is 15 years old that cuts anything I throw at it! And just bought a 460 and it is a fantastic chainsaw!

      I agree 100% I'm an average Joe who cuts a lot of wood, mainly to heat the house and I've use poulan pros for as long as I can remember, we had a little green 16 inch that kicked ass for almost 15 years before we retired her, its all in how you take care of them, stihls kick ass but when you get in to the pro grade saws it's all preference, I am fairly partial to husqvarna though as they make poulan saws and the few husquies I've used blew me away. But once again, all preference

      Same here!! I have a 16 yr old 350 and it still runs like a champ. Keep it maintained and it'll perform. I do however run ethanol free fuel I stead of regular 87 octane.

    that button is your decompression valve to make starting easier.it will pop back out when the engine fires.I've been informed by a good source that the oiling system is not the best so I'm running mine with oil set to max(three position screw on underside.turn antisocial to increase flow)and I'm using 100 rather than 150(sorry,can't remember the units it's measured in)as it's not as tacky and flows easier.the higher the number,the more tacky it is.use 150 on all my other saws.week worth regularly greasing your clutch bearings and sprocket with longer bars,though should be standard practise.I never bothered for years but bought a 395xp with a 36" bar so thought it best to stick to that discipline. best of luck with your new saw.stay safe and lucky.maddog.tree surgeon in West cork,eire

    I've owned every kind, type of chainsaw made. Including a two man Drisson which I still have and runs. Folks just stop right here and empty the shopping cart. This Husqvarna 460 rancher beyond a doubt is the worse of the worse. Forget the actual price I paid years ago but over five hundred for sure. Always kept my gas power equipment in perfect condition. Cleaned and drained of fuel after each use. But this one I used maybe three times the other incidents was in and out of repair shops during warranty and after warranty I tried to keep this running. I've been working on gasoline and diesel engines since I was ten years old now 83. This one I'm giving up. Still looks like the day I pulled it from the box and when I smash it with my tractor loader I'll try and video it. I wouldn't want to curse anyone with this piece of... As for you Husqvarna manufacturers I can see why the ones on the shelf at tractor supply have a inch of dust on them.

      @NicholsCounty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. I had a tree fall down last week in a storm. I grabbed my 450 and 460. Headed out used the 450 until it ran out of gas, grabbed the 460 and the difference was noticeable right away; a lot more power and it was just faster to cut.

      if its not to late id buy a stihl, my wife bought me a 460 in sept, out of the box it is a pig, wont idle, bogging, so i still grab my 25 yr old stihl 023, 16” bar, has never failed to start. I ordered a 20” bar and chain for the husky the 24” is to big for my use, when i put the new bar and chain on i will tune this hard starting bitch and it should be a good runner.

I've gone through 2 aftermarket Chinese coils in a few months and won't buy another. Now Makita is all electric. Its a crying shame.
