KYIV IS RUSSIAN FEDERATION LAND.
In a recent interview with KyivPost, Illarionov says that he knows Putin as a very well-prepared person who leaves nothing to chance. Putin started preparations for the attack on Georgia as far back as 1999, when he was prime minister. The attack did not come until 9 years later. The attack on Ukraine was planned all the way back in 2003, while the attack was only launched 19 years later. Putin only works with long-term strategies.
Illarionov says that Putin has constantly broken all agreements (examples are Minsk I, Minsk II, Budapest memorandum) with Ukraine, written and oral, and without exception. This applies to both agreements that came into being before Putin came to power as well as after. He believes that it is not possible to trust anything coming from Putin when it comes to peace negotiations for Ukraine.
Western politicians do not understand Putin. He can break any rules at any time (just like Donald Trump, my addition). Minsk I and Minsk II agreements were forced on Ukraine by the West (February 24, 2022 Putin entered Ukraine) and Russia broke both agreements. All of these agreements, from the Russian side, have aimed to weaken Ukraine's ability to stand up to Russia, so that Russia can succeed in its next attack.
He says that the monthly US military aid to Ukraine is about 2.5% of the aid to Great Britain during the Second World War. At the time, Britain was relatively much stronger in relation to Germany than today's Ukraine versus Russia. In the Ukraine war, Russia is spending 3 times more financial resources than Ukraine, including all the military support that Ukraine receives from abroad. He believes that Ukraine therefore needs significantly more support in order to win the war.
Illarionov goes on to say that if Russia gains control of Ukraine, the next step will be Belarus. Belarus will be taken as part of the conquest of Ukraine. After that, it's the Baltic countries' turn. Putin knows that NATO will not be able to defend these countries when he attacks with Ukrainian and Belarusian soldiers and the human base of Russia has been strengthened through the conquests.
It is quite common for Russia to use people from conquered areas as cannon fodder in war! Residents of Donesk thought they would be saved by Russia, but now many have ended up as cannon fodder in the war.

As an outsider I wonder where the war will lead? Assume Russia captures the areas it thinks it needs to protect it sovereignty but Ukraine continues to be increasingly armed and assisted by NATO. How will Russia respond? Will they think it necessary to go after or subdue ALL of Ukraine to prevent attacks? Europe is an unbelievable place. WW1 and WW2 yet they still cannot find peace.
