Hi dear Ravi👋. 400 mcg of Folic acid is given in children between 5-9 years as once a week tablet. in Pregnancy, CDC guideline is as follows.. Women who have already had an Neural Tube Defect (NTD)-affected pregnancy and are planning to become pregnant again should consult with their healthcare provider. The current recommendations are that these women consume 4,000 mcg of folic acid each day beginning 1 month before becoming pregnant and through the first 3 months of pregnancy. Women who have had an NTD-affected pregnancy should consume 400 mcg of folic acid each day, even when not planning to become pregnant.
