Batman Gotham City Escape Review - Europe's Answer to Velocicoaster?

  • Batman Gotham City Escape is the newest Multi Launch Intamin roller coaster to open in Europe and it's quite an impressive ride. It has been over 20 years since Parque Warner first opened and in that time, there hasn't been a major new thrill ride or major roller coaster added to the park, but all that changes now! (Bip bip isn't really a major thrill coaster of course!)
    This new Batman Roller Coaster takes you on a thrilling escape from Wayne Manor after being trapped inside by Batman's nemesis, the Joker. The ride features airtime, Inversions and thrilling launches that take you up to a maximum speed over 64mph.
    Oh, and it's my channel, so if I want to do a silly batman voice in the intro, then I shall!
    Enjoy!

    Velocicoaster feels like Universal threw a blank check at Intamin and asked for the best ride, no gimmicks involved, whereas Gotham City is an attempt at more unique ride with a few new elements (namely a spike as the brake and the holding brake on the top hat). For a smaller park with such limited space, being just a step away from the best of the best is an absolute compliment. Great review, David-- as always, your channel (despite being smaller than other coaster channels) puts out higher quality and more detailed content than all of them.

    Just a note about the spike, it is purely just for space reasons rather than an element designed to be enjoyable :)

    Fantastic review, when a new ride opens there's always a lot of hype which can sway opinions a little bit, so I'm happy you touched on some of the minor issues with the attraction. It certainly looks like a great ride, especially that stall

    • @RollercoasterDavid
      @RollercoasterDavid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's an issue with media days I think, when people are invited to an event they're probably going to give a positive review so they get invited again in the future. I went after it had been opened to the general public so can hopefully be free of bias as much as possible.

    That elongated stall over the plaza looks insane! I really hope to see a park get intamin to take all of the new technologies and elements they've been experimenting with and put it into one monster ride

    Great review, looking forward to riding this sometime in the future. Most reviews seem to put this above Toutatis but you seem to put Toutatis higher. Rode Toutatis for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was blown away by it, rated it above Taron, Kondaa and just getting edged out by RTH, firmly sitting as my number two coaster.

      This looks good. I think his comparison to Pantheon seems about right. Velocicoaster looks like the stronger ride. Although I do have Fury over Pantheon. Interesting he talked about Copperhead Strike pretty highly.

    • @marty_nz
      @marty_nz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alantrotter2077 Did he though? He meant Fury at BBJ being a multi launch coaster I think, not Fury 325! I thought he said it's easily better than Fury, Copperhead Strike, Operation Enterprise and many others (suspect he meant newer/ish multi launch coasters?). Those are mid to lower tier multi launch coasters if you compare it to the Intamins for example, in my opinion. I love Pantheon. I love Velocicoaster more though. Taron sits between those two for me. I've actually done all three of those with David now that I think about it. You should come join us for our Carowinds day in June! Maybe I'll change my opinion on Copperhead Strike this visit.

    Very nice review! I think you addressed my concerns about the smaller trains and the speed of which the top hat is taken. Pantheon is just outside my Top 10, Fury is in my Top 10, and Velocicoaster is #3, so it sounds like I have a pretty good idea of the quality of coaster we are looking at. I also tend to agree with you about Wayne Manor. The color looks out of place. Again great review!

    I get that this isn't Velocicoaster, but better than Fury 325 or Copperhead Strike? They're not even in the same ballpark in quality, but just so happen to be in the same park. With all your experience: how could you let that confuse you?
