Leonard Cohens 'Hallelujah' wasn't meant to be a strictly religious song.
Cohen wanted people to interpret the song, in ways that felt meaningful for those individuals.
For Cohen himself, the song was a way to confirm his faith in life, not faith in religion.
He belived there are many different Hallelujas. Both broken and triumphant. And they are all equally meaningful.
You know in the original version there was many biblical references, some about King David for example. When I checked it, there was like 15 well known artists who record the song. Hallelujah means praise the lord. Thats a Hebrew word spells allelujah in the old testament.

It can be a jewish, christian or a secular song depending on the listener.

The song was written by Leonard Cohen who died recently My favorite song of his is Everybody Knows. Tommy is great and has a beautiful voice.
I don't think I know to many Cohen songs if any. Tommy definitely has a fabulous voice. Take care my good friend
This was an old recording .. but Tommy was sick in in Covid and had no voice for two weeks so he put it together along with some tutorials on playing guitar …this was the start of his go on covers 😀
Golden resurrection is not an ongoing project since 2015 .. but tommy was fabulous in that band too .. if you are courious“ end of the world” .. or why not a live concert with that band .. will try to post links below

@@grumpyoldguyreactsI will try to post the live .. not reaction material .. golden resurrection is a Christian metal band that was a starting point as collab for Tommy .. he has also been the singer in Symphony of tradegy and memories of old as well as hot beef injection ( very goofy 80 th influenced band .. go to love Tommy’s humor and flare for the 80th) ..also numerous 😂collabs and guest appearances with other artists ☀️

Just before this Tommy was burned out considering stop doing music.. considering selling his guitars ( another story in itself ) … good friends and 80 goofy music seemed to be the trick .. and I’m grateful for it

You should search for the videos from Sabaton Cruise 2023 when Joakim lost his voice so Tommy and Chris has to sing instead. Was thinking of you when I saw them.

Check out Sabaton concert, Hellfest 2019...the band were last minute headliners...and Joakim lost his voice! Tommy and Chris trade lead vocals, lyrics taped to the floor in front of them!
And while I'm here...I want to tell you about Majestica bassist/vocalist, Chris David's solo project...called WizDoom. Check out the song Way Of The Lost... its very different than Majestica...but Chris is a world-class musician, with a phenomenal voice! I wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't really sensational!
