Met him in while serving in the Navy - he looks right into your eyes and is fully present when talking to you. He repeats your name and is charming and smart. All these guys are smart for the most part - just in different ways. It is hard to get to the office of the President, very hard and BC did his thing.

Two essential points every leader can take from this brief review: 1. If you get it wrong the first time, own it - think about it - and in humility correct it at the next opportunity - the God of *second chances.* 2. The defeat was good for me, *I learned from it* - and he shared the lessons he learned. Well said, thanks.!

Brilliant, imperfect man who strived to leave the country better than he found it (budget surplus anyone?). And a marvelous communicator. Absolutely one of the best. His speech in support of Obama’s second run arguably nailed the election - a work of oratory art. A shame his tenure collided with Newt’s shameless destruction of political civility.
A male colleague who met him in the US Embassy in Slovenia said he sucked the air out of the building. Just extraordinarily charismatic.

Many of Clinton's policies I did not agree with however. I am a firm believer in standing on your own two feet until you are truly unable to do so. To much buying of votes by Clinton and the rest of the democrats after him.

The issue is his policies and decision making didn’t come to fruition until the last decade.
NAFTA was a disaster. Full stop. Blasted away million of manufacturing jobs and continued the decline of the American middle class.
He signed the Crime Bill. It’s the most racist bill since Jim Crow “state” law. Millions of black and brown people in the prison system for minor drug crimes. Ruined generations of families.
He also inherited a strong enough nation. Economy was rough but not like today.

Although I have very limited interest in politics and I don't want to actively participate in politics. I just watch and observe such personalities of history so that I can learn from their life challenges and their response mechanism showing their thinking style, personality and mental and physical toughness in unbelievable adverse conditions.
Mr Bill Clinton is one of them. My personal observation is that such humble and soft people are usually prone to such mistakes. That is why I like serious but little bit stubborn people in leadership category such as Army Generals.
One thing is clear that Mr Bill Clinton is an honest man who accepts his mistakes being human and that only one thing is benchmark of a very solid and strong personality because people of such calibre has to go through unbelievable, unbearable pressure within the mind and outside of the brain, social pressure which can kill your personality for ever.
Mrs Bill Clinton role was outstanding during his tough times and I always have been appreciating her such behaviour to support Mr Bill Clinton.

I like army generals, too, as tough military leaderships which belongs to Hawks spirits of modern democratic society, in particular when public policy under presidency is dealing with complicated difficult decision-making process.
Mr. Bill Clinton is a wise president and own excellent personalities when he met challenges during Clinton administration to strengthen international relationships through diplomatic solutions among great powers. That's also the reason he re-elected as President.

I will admit Clinton was a good president and had the country in good shape during his presidency, I think his foreign policy was just as bad as the Bushes, Obama, etc. I grew up in the 90s and the atmosphere was much brighter. As a person he has a lot of skeletons in his closet, some very bad depending on how much you want to believe.

It's also important to note, that Clinton had "second chances" and learned to be a better Governor and a better President. For example, taking a listening tour of the state, after losing the Governor's office in 1980.
