Funny stuff about your truck engine run switch. This was a great video. The motorman had a nice soft touch. We had some guys hitch up so hard you'd swear they were trying to drive the coupler to the other end of the car. Thanks again for a great video!

Years ago my dad wanted a bridge over our creek. He contacted someone, and a few days later, two tank cars with the ends cut off, showed up. The contractor pushed them in the creek, side by side, covered them with gravel, and the cows no longer had to walk thru the creek.

Hi Mr.Jawtooth, I have that very same fix it switch on my truck, also a lot of bailing wire holding various parts on, the mufflers, the fan shroud. Enjoyed the video,i like to watch a local do their switching moves, that's what it's all about.

CSX SD40-2/3's turn up out here every so often, usually at the back of the power consist on a train. But about 2 years ago I caught a SD40-2 leading a autorack train west. Nice to see your videos of Locals at work, the BNSF Local rarely comes up to my area any more since the sand mines near me were idled/shut down.
We don't see many of the SD40s anymore either. I thought they would always be in abundance here. Will your sand mines open up in the summer for construction like the quarries do here?
@@JawTooth Not likely. Most if not all the sand mines here in WI were for fracking sand. From what I've researched and been told the Upper Midwest frac sand "boom" is now a "bust", many smaller companies have closed/consolidated or been swallowed up by bigger companies. Same thing happened about 25-30 yrs. ago. The mines might reopen but it's anyone's guess as to when. There's still quite a few older EMD GP/SD's still around this region, but largely for yard/local work with the Class I railroads. I have caught a few ex-Soo SD60 leaders on CP manifests though.
It's likely that some accountant decided that they were past their use-by date, and probably sent them to a scrap metal graveyard for scrapping at a future point. Hopefully someone needing engines will find them in good enough shape to salvage a few out of it before they are all gone! Hope and pray, and maybe consider a fundraiser, and perhaps some will get saved for some shortline railroad action! :D

Yes, I can't wait for the leaves to come out and the frogs to start chirping. I'm actually looking forward to getting my riding mowers out. One of my riders has a fix it switch on it somewhere but I can't find it. It might have to go to the repair shop

lol! As I watch this, a BNSF westbound open hopper train passes through the farm. 2 BNSF engines and a KCS as the 3rd engine. 2 BNSF DPU's are on the rear of said train. Several of these trains pass daily to get aggregate. I've seen them unloading way down south of I-10 at a huge plant down in that area of the Houston megalopolis.
Awesome! I wish my farm was by the tracks. That must be a lot of fun having the trains come to you. You could camp out by the tracks and have a bon fire while railfanning

Hmm, I think I had a couple of cars that had hidden "Fixed/Broken" switches...they were Mercury Grand Marquis. And, to be honest, they weren't that "Grand". But I like the assortment of tools you had to "fix" your truck with :D Great video as usual!

Awesome! I have one of those units in a video but it was in the background. One time I was over there and the conductor let me inside of one of the units but he didn't want to be photoed. That is a busy area
@@JawTooth the tank wash next door has what I think is a 44 ton switcher. Its blue got the mid cab and engines front and rear. St bernard soap and smuckers is on the other side of the main. I got a fun job.

I was on the sidewalk on Kings Run Drive and a security guard from P&G came across the road to me and told me that I couldn't record or photo anything on the P&G side of the road. I wasn't even looking in their direction.

A few years ago I hat to go to the desert near Las vegas to get away from the wetness for a week. I mean it rains ALL the time in Ohio

@@JawTooth Cool. HESR 3485 & 3484 has been sold to TPW i think it's going to the same railroad the 2107 went to. HESR 3868 Has been sold to MEI in Illinois. MQT 3390 will be Reassigned back to Marquette Rail sometime this summer.
Do they close the derail during the time the locomotives are on the siding? They do that here. One time, the switcher went into a track to pick up cars and came out...and got bonked off the track by the derail! They closed it...and someone forgot to open it when they went back to the main.

Good question! The EOT lets the crew in the locomotive know the air pressure in the train so if there is a problem they will know immediately . CCET rarely uses one though since most of their trains are short and they rarely run at night. In poor visability the EOT is used because it has a red flashing light so you know there is a train there
So, just to be clear, bc my truck is having the same problem...If I go buy a light switch from home depot, label it like you did, and just switch it...my truck will magically work again? PLEAS HELP! 911 CRISIS OVER HERE.
