Hi everyone! Thank you for your kind works and advice in the comments! A lot of you guys have decided to subscribe to my channel because of this video. Mista Malika Hello! I know this video is a few years old but I just wanted to drop a comment and tell you thank you so much for posting this. I just died the underside of my long hair blue last night and I cannot get it to stop staining my neck LOL. Thank you for the tips I will definitely be getting the shampoo and conditioner that you recommended my Hair dye pillow case and definitely be washing it with cold water tonight.
1. Use color saving/extending products ( primer, etc)
2. Use color safe shampoo and conditioner (sulfate and silicone free)
3. Wash hair with cold water
4. Dry shampoo to wash hair less
5. Add dye to your conditioner
6. Have a designated "hair dye" pillow or sheet set
7. Get a good stain remover
8. Try different brands

@@amandaarostegui5845 which tip were you referring to with your question? Depending on your hair type, you could dry your hair before bed by for example my hair can sometimes take a day or more to fully dry. Also, personally I avoid all heat styling to avoid damaging my hair

Showering in cold water. One of the few times that I’m thankful for my lack of temperature perception lol
Doing a Apple cider vinegar rinse will stop color from bleeding ! I use Braggs Raw Unfiltered Vinegar

How do you do it? I covered mine, and left it for 10 minutes and rinsed it and it did nothing. My mistake was using splat so I don't know how much anything will help.
@@lilianpowell3433 I did it the same way but I didn’t use splat I used hi-color which is for dark hair going to red . Which color splat did you use they all bleed terribly

to do the cold water tip but not be uncomfortable wash your body then hair separate as in let your head hang upside down so cold water is not on your body. Its still not fun though.
I get down on my knees in the bathtub and put my head up under the main faucet
, that way the cold water is only reaching my head not my body.😊
As far as the pillow cases and sheets. Just buy black ones or dye the stained ones black 😂 I feel the manic panic pain. Also if you live in a tropical climate and sweat. Splat or manic panic is a nightmare when you sweat....

I dye my whole head with Manic Panic purple haze like a few days before Halloween and hopeful your tips help because my hair have been bleeding like crazy and it don't look as good as it did the first week.

My problem isn’t MY pillowcases, it’s my lovahhhs😜thanks for this video. It confirmed what I thought. There’s no way around the purple crime scene or red massacre I tend to leave behind. Got charged by a hotel once. No bueno. Back to permanent 🤷🏾♀️😁
My hair has been purple for 2 weeks now and it keeps bleeding whenever I wash it. Almost all of it is gone now
I am a little late to help but next time try using an apple cider vinegar rinse. Dilute it and spray all over let it sit for a few minutes then wash with cold water . It won't completely stop the bleeding but it will lessen it alot. Your hair might smell a little bit while it is wet but the smell will go away as it dries. Use it no more then once a week and dilute the vinegar really well
Sophia ._. I recommend getting a product called oVertone it is a pigmented moisturizer for your hair that keeps color in and you can get any color you need
Try using Arctic Fox! It's doesn't bleed as long as you follow ur steps! Cold water, SULFATE FREE shampoo (or any shampoo with ATE)) and less washing as possible n dry shampoo... some ppl can "train" their hair to only be washed with conditioner... idk but all that.. but try ARCTIC FOX.. I love their colors n it's vegan n cruelty free!
Perfectly Broken Sami I used arctic fox, and their color transylvania IS A NIGHTMARE. My hair bleeds everywhere. If I sweat my entire forehead gets stained. It’s awful.

Artic fox has been the worst for bleeding for me so far and I have used a TON of different types of dyes. And followed ALL proper steps

Jayme Carruthers oh no!!! I actually just dyed my hair again, used mostly purple rain, with a bit of girls’ night and aquamarine, and haven’t had a bit of trouble. Maybe it’s certain colors?? Or making sure you thoroughly wash out the dye (using cool water (colder the better) helps hold color in... hot makes your hair cuticles open n lose color faster)
Ugh everything is red my pillow my sheet and not to mention the collar of my clothes and omg lots of red in the shower and I haaaaate it

I just dyed my ends vibrant purple and I'm a freak over washing my hair. I need to wash it ever day but idk how to keep my hair color like that. My hair is sensitive to dry shampoo and I don't feel like buying more shampoo or conditioner for my hair. idk what to do anymore
Loulou Bourouail washing your hair daily is really bad for your hair. Wash your hair in cold water, use Baking soda mixed with water instead of shampoo and slowly wean your hair from being washed so often. also spray Apple Cider Vinegar to help keep the color in.
Loulou Bourouail if you like to wash your hair everyday make sure you don't shampoo everyday because that will dry the shit out of your hair
If you need to wash everyday use a cowash instead of shampoo. It doesn't strip/dry out your hair but still cleans it. Overtone has shampoos conditioners and treatments that deposit the color in your hair
Loulou Bourouail I completely get you I have psoriasis, so yes I can still dye my hair but I have to wash it everyday so I can get the flakes out , but this causes my hair to always fade 100%

The worst is when you're doing pt and your Lt starts razzing you, because there's pink all dripping all over your face. I don't really care if it fades, but I hope maybe some of the color saving sprays will help with the bleeding.

It could also depend on the dye! Manic Panic bleeds out of my hair like crazy, but ion brilliance doesn't. Just keep trying different combinations!
i got the ion red and its been less than 2 weeks and still bleeding and out of all the colors i have used from ion, this one is the only one that has been a problem.

I absolutely love you!! Thank you! My daughter has used the Adore and that's what we have the most issues with. The Argan Oil is what I use in my son's hair on his mohawk and it was a a lot better as far as bleeding when he moisturizes/mists or washes his hair. I a ctually just purchased Creme of Nature Exotic Shine's Intensive Red. Wish me luck!

+S.R. Taylor I'M SO GLAD I COULD HELP!!! I also got reminded that the cold water also helps reduce frizz as well! And that's so crazy because Adore would NOT leave my hair until I bleached it, like, 4 times, and Argan Oil dulls out even before I did the first wash. I really want to try a Shea Moisture dye, but their mostly natural colors, and I'm still on my blues and pinks lol! Let me know how Creme of Nature turns out (and good luck)! And the pillowcase is near the bonnets and everything like that (can't remember if i said that in the video), and the pillow that was really stained had a cotton case (just a fyi type thing). Legit Oxiclean works to to clean up splat dye. I use Oxiclean in my laundry and it takes alot of the transferred dye out. I also use it to clean up anything in the bathroom (if you get it quickly).
Thank you! I put in a teal color for a costume I was wearing, and now I look like a melting smurf 24/7. The 30 days to wash out can not come soon enough. But surprisingly, I liked the color and considered doing it again. But the bleeding and staining of everything, my body included, is not something I can deal with. I'm going to try these tips you have given. They sound plausible to me, and anything has to be better than what I'm doing. Here's hoping!

so i just recently dyed my hair dark green(splat). normally when i dye my hair it bleeds when wet but i’ve noticed that now it bleeds when dry also. anyone know how to prevent this because it’s a big issue!?
Try apple cider vinegar I used braggs raw unfiltered, it really works no more bleeding color !

I got the ends of my hair dyed a few weeks ago at the barber and got it bleached there beforehand as well. However, it still bleeds a bit on my pillow case and clothes. It's not That noticeable but really annoying. Is this normal and is there a way to prevent it? I only wash my hair like 2 days a week and use a special conditioner meant for dyed hair.
Can’t give much advice for during the day, but when it comes to sleeping I’d suggest either black towel over your pillowcase OR wrapping your hair ends in cloth and securing it with an elastic.
I used to have bright blue hair tips that would bleed like crazy and even after multiple washes, it could be bone dry and would still rub off, so I used clean black rags to cover the ends of my pigtails while I slept. If your hair is short however maybe a fabric bonnet would help? Or simple plastic shower cap if you don’t mind the crunchy plastic sound on your head as you sleep. Best of luck!

How do you keep hair dye from staining your shower? I wash my hair in my kitchen because .y hair dye stains my shower. My husband had to scrub our shower for 30mins to get the hair dye out of our shower.
I wash my hair in Luke warm water then rinse the conditioner out with cold water I have a shower head with a detachable hose head so it makes it easier to rinse and not get cold water on my body

if it's a slight tint, your red should over power it. i've used white rain and ogx's green conditions with not-green hair dyes and the color has come out fine. so yeah, just make sure your dye is bright than the conditioner

The purple worked out fine. the only problem I really had was that it had blue undertones instead of the red/pink one I wanted I believe i have a video on it on my channel.

Even when my Hair is dry when I touch it hair dye still gets on my hands
What brand did you use ? And i think the product is properly washed out in that case. (Bright red hair dyes can do this to clothes so beware for that.)

It could just be the brand that you are using doesn't work well with your hair. Also (years later lol), I have learned about hair porosity and your hair might be high porosity, meaning that the hair follicles on you hair strands are always open so products such as semi permanent dyes don't stay too well. search hair porosity on youtube and that could help you find out!
