I start a track from scratch using Studio One 5! I start with a simple shaker loop from splice, add an instrument track from Sample Tank with with some simple chord progressions, a vibe is created!
Loving these tracks from scratch, Forest! Would love to see you do a longer-form version of this, either as one longer video or a series of several short videos, going deeper into fleshing out a full track. Really pumped to see where you choose to take your TH-cam channel!
@@forestwhitehead, personally I'm DAW-agnostic, since I use Ableton and can follow what you're doing no matter which DAW you choose. Whichever DAW you're feeling inspired in that day is perfect!
I came back here today because I just had to search out something in this particular video. At 3:58 this was obviously the first time you ever tried Picked Guitar on Kontakt, because the look on your face, as you looked at your filming partner, when you pressed the key was fantastic. It was like in your mind you said, "Why haven't I ever used this before?" This video is why I bought that, and a few other instruments from the same people. :)
Excellent work. I was already writing a song to this groove in my head for practice by following along as I would one of my own productions. Such a cool video. Thanks brother!
Hey Forest, I'm really digging your channel and your content. I do have a question about having songs like this sort of fleshed out already before a writing or co-writing session. Is this something you'd go into a session with the particular style chosen beforehand? And how many ideas like this would you bring to a writing session? I'm trying to get some music heard and am used to fleshing ideas for sync licensing for background TV music so I have tons of ideas like this, in a handful of different genres. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks, I've been subbed for a few months now.
Hey Forest, question: when duplicating a specific track, does that it make it still a Mono signal? Or does the exact duplicate make them stereo..? Thanks
Freakin awesome, Forest. Are al those instruments included w the full version of Studio One? I have Studio One Artist and I’m about to buy the full version.
What I learned from watching this is you just pulled up a song or plugin and went with it. You didn't overthink it just played it and captured it and moved on. Me? I would still be going through shaker loops on Splice.
Gotta keep moving when co-writers are staring a hole through you like, whatcha got???? Hahaha knowing where the sounds that you love live are half the time battle.
I love this
Great Video ! Looking forward for many more !! Thanks !

Thanks for your support! I will absolutely do that. Would you rather see it in Studio One or Logic?

Great idea, working on one this week!

That was inspiring. You made a song out of it... or it was just for the video?
havent written it yet!
Totally cool, Forest. Can you do one where you start with just a top line? Cheers!
Ill do that for sure! Thanks for your suggestion.

Oh oops I know Spectrasonics is not included. 😁. I have their Stylus RMX 😁
