From a Saffa, the reason that the pack has shown more improved play than the back in my opinion is this. Jason Ryan has been the forwards coach since the Ian Foster regime, this continuity bulits better cohesion and the trust you more as a coach. On a side note you mentioned the 1 wing position being unclaimed, put Reiko there and give Billy a decent go at 13. 💪

The officiating is a major issue. NH players fall all over the ball at the rucks to slow everything down, and they get away with it. Penalize this sort of behaviour and the ABs will get some go forward. Reiko needs to go, or at least be moved out to wing.

If Henry and Hansen were coaching the All Blacks in 2024, their winning % would be much lower than the 85% they had. All teams are much better defensively now especially with rush defense. All Blacks don’t get the space to score tries like in the past as a result. Even during the great All Blacks era we lost to South Africa 3 times in 1 year in 2009. 2009 had 4 losses including 2 lost at home. The 85% win rate is never coming back because the sport is far more competitive than its ever been. All teams have access to modern coaching and training systems. McCaw would be heavily scrutinised in this TMO era.

All Blacks should make statements in their personal time.......like when richie mcCaw and other ABs fronted promo material for John key in an AB jersey...like that time the players donned coloured laces to support rainbow community...like that time the All Blacks left their Maori players back home to enjoy their personal time while the team flew to play in apartheid south africa...like all those times ABs wear a poppy on their sleeve...like how the NZR monetize maori culture and use of haka for branding...
just a maori / brown thing. NZ Europeans have so much say and influence over everything. Even including how our names or mis-pronounced every single game. Sometimes you get one guy's name said incorrectly 3 or 4 different ways.

Keep praising a guy that lied and deceived his coach and teammates, who destroyed the Mana of all haka for the majority of New Zealanders. Who damaged their employer, who had paid him millions. Who waited until the last game so he could leave everyone in the sh*t and bugger off like a complete coward. Who disrespected the Italians in their own country. Who advocated for racial supremacy during a sports match and spat in the face on the majority of Kiwis.

Our forward pack is only just on par with the top teams and can't make up for the lack of cutting edge of our backline. In fact, our pack is undersized and underpowered in the breakdown compared to France and S Africa and only just achieves parity in the set piece. Our backline suffers from a lack of a outright speed merchant in the wings and a lack of a proper distributor and crash ball in the centres and all our first choice fly halves are converted 15s rather than natural no 10s.

His Nana is Pat Farrow a NZ softball representative back in the day as are both his parents and his mother's brother - he really should have been an international softball rep - luckily he chose rugby. Do you think he would have these views and made these sorts of statements if it meant excluding his pakeha Nana! I think, and know, not! He loves her as much as any grandchild ever has and would never disrespect this lovely lady. Its time that NZ media did some real investigative journalism to find out who people truly are, and in this case TJ, and not what they think they represent. He has no eye for space, can't put his outside players into space, and doesn't have the distribution skills to service his back three. Look at the replays of our wingers' tries this year, and you'll see that the vast majority were created for them by other players....Rieko looked like a lost extra on a movie set. You can add to that the number of times he spilled the ball or knocked on in contact...often between the opposition's 22 and 40. His only saving grace is his defense, especially near our line...which has been excellent.

Ok, I'm an old Irish supporter who holds NZ rugby in high esteem. As a half Cornish half Irishman bred, I know the impact that relgion, politics and English law bring. So saying, I strongly feel that no sports person should ever use their sport as a platform to express any religious, political or ethnic views. I still vividly remember seeing two black athletes at the 1968 Olympic Games on the winners blocks; each man raised his fist in the Black Power salute. I was seven. It caused a furore. It was brazen racism. There is a time and a place TJ. Leading the NZ Haka is not the place. There's plenty of time for it in retirement fella. God bless yous and yours, Ann. God bless NZ.
