I usually love retros, but I really hate what they did with this one. The aesthetics aren't as nice, the cannon section drags on too long, the course is easier overall, and worst of all they got rid of the bouncy bridge...
I think it would have been cool if there was a split path on whether you want to take the glider section or the bouncy bridge. Getting rid of that was dissapointing.

I love this version of Mapple Treeway, but they ruined it here. The Wii version had the piles of leaves that gave you mushrooms and stars. And the Wii version also has the bridge at the end. Edit: The remake in the booster course pass is SO much better than this. It still has some flaws like the lack of the trick off bridge at the end, and the Wigglers aren't nearly as intimidating in that version as they were in the Wii version. It's still downgraded from the OG, but an improvement over this version.

Retro Studios had zero hand in “Super Mario Galaxy” and “Super Mario Galaxy 2” and Honey Queen wasn’t even the most popular attraction of either of those games. Also, Honey Queen wasn’t even in “Super Mario 3D Land” (the game being sold alongside this one).
I would much rather have Wiggler than Lakitu. What was Nintendo thinking, sure now we can get revenge on him for costing us the game for several years, but he's wasted a character slot in 7 and 8!
Because they wanted to make the retro tracks in this game take more advantage of gliding and underwater racing. It's not like it matters that much; it's still a phenomenal track.
Because not every custom track has to be identical to its original form, from the original game. Hence the reason MKDS and MKW were completely insufferable. Especially MKDS because it barely had any new mechanics (I like it better than MK7 though).
The fact that they got rid of that bridge at the end makes this track a million times harder.

All 7's four retro tracks from Wii are amazing:
Mushroom Gorge (Shell)
Coconut Mall (Banana)
Maple Treeway (Leaf)
Koopa Cape (Lightning)

Finally, this course has come to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe via Booster Course Pass. This course was one of my favorites in Mario Kart Wii.

Mario Kart Tour doesn't have the best mechanics imo. I just hate the fact that you can't fall off tracks.
There is also no option for disabling auto mode.
