This won't apply to all mods, and especially not admin style mods, but for basic addition mods this is what I do
cant seem to get the server show up on normal launcher and or Dzsa launcher, followed all steps also cant join thru direct connect.......
Man I even disabled my firewall and it won’t connect via ftp.

dont know why but my dayz doesnt pop up after opening the common file, only dayzserver which doesnt have my downloaded mods from steam workshop
You need to get it out of the workshop folder in the DayZ folder, it's usually a hidden folder you'll need to set your PC to show hidden folders

DUDE! ty SO MUCH for this video! I appreciate you explaining it like you were talking to a toddler. Cuz SERIOUSLY thats exactly what I needed. I have never in my entire life seen mods THIS HARD to install to a game without detailed instruction like this. You are the GOAT! I really have no idea how a normal person would EVER figure this out by just messing around. I have no serious prior knowledge to any of this stuff. I just followed along with you, trusting the process. And if anyone was to ask "how did you do that" my answer would be i have NO idea lol!! Id have to send them to this video. Ty Ty Ty! It took me (no lie) 5 hours of searching the internet, following guides, watching old outdated videos to FINALLY find you (somehow). Forever grateful.

i upload these mods but they are always missing meta.cpp and such files!! i transferred the exact file and didnt take anything out of it im really in a dead end here...
Why do you need that? Most the mods I use don't ever have one, works fine
so dose it work like this the same way with all mods like expansion and any mod on steam workshop

I've just realized the massive amount of work it's going to take me to edit the types, events, etc files to config my server of a 100 mods....fuck...
I have another video on running multiple types files and such, can run multiple spawnabletypes, makes it easier to keep up with

My remote site looks different on the filezilla..also no key folder...like I have something different I don't get it. Thanks for the help tho, great video. Anyone got any helpful info l that can set me straight?

I try to include the whole process start to finish and simple as I can and how I do things myself, I can only teach how I myself learn and I had to self teach a lot of this stuff, glad it helps you!
so ive been having a really hard time trying to get mortys wepons to my spawn list, ive treied so many things but cant get it, 1. does the loot spawn once i add it to the spawn table and restart it or do i have to wait untill the main loot despawns?2. is there a way i can test the loot spawns to see it my wepons are spawning?. if you can make a vid showing how to do it and how to test that its spwning in the envirement woule help. thanks for the tuts, ive been using all your videos to set my server up

Well this just helped me in more ways than one lol. I was adding new mod types to my Expansion types.xml no wonder they wasn't working.

Hmmm so I’ve watched a bunch of videos on how to do this. You’re the only one I’ve seen that downloads anything else for the mods. Everyone else just drag and drops into file location… any reason why? lol seems like an pointless extra program and step

Maybe did I made a mistake, but now even when I turn my serve on, It keeps telling me that my server is off ( in the game I mean)

Why would you need to upload the key twice? I just followed everything and the keys are already there I don't see the point of doing it again.
if refering to the part where i showed two methods of uploading the key, yeah dude, correct, only need to do it once...but for demo purpose of showing a couple ways to do something...yeah showed it twice?
@@JosieGarfunkle Actually I may have misunderstood something along the way. In the main directory I saw a keys folder and that's where the 2nd uploading of the keys were supposed to go right? I had finally gotten the VPPadmintools mod to work and I had to take the key and put it in the keys directory. I think it's what I misunderstood IM now uploading the mods I want and will try it again.

I feel like I'm totally missing something here, when I get a mod from Workshop it doesn't sit in a folder called "@RandomMod" it just has a nine digit number, I've followed all of this tut and it just won't work, i keep getting the message "you were kicked off the game due to a data verification error: Client has a Mod which is not on the server. the server shows that it is using the mod, the BISKEYs and all as they should be. What am I doiong wrong here?
if thats the error then either key, or mod install isnt right, or your spelling the mod wrong in the call line and not calling your mod at all, and getting a mod from workshop puts it in the workshop folder, you gotta add it to your server, rather a live server or a local server.
man, I appreciate you replying, I've had to do a full reinstall to get the !Workshop folder to show up and I thought that would be the end of the problem, re did everything, double checked all my steps, copied and pasted so I didn't miss-spell, copied the key, copied the mod folder, added it to the additional mods in general. I'm going to give it another go in the morning, it's pissing me off too much tonight.
@@JosieGarfunkle yeah so, it turns out I'm an idiot - I was copying the wrong key into the "Keys" folder....

well if said mod doesnt come with type entries for new items, or new events, etc. No, you wouldnt have anything nor need to alter any of it yeah?
@@JosieGarfunkle I did try to start the game without the type file and across the “can’t compile mission script” error
@@notnoriaga hard to say what the error was, if you remove a file from the server, i know nitrado servers automatically replace anything missing with a vanilla file
im on a nitrado pc server and im sure i did all steps correct i triple checked it, but my mods aren't showing up, when i run server no mods in list or when i load in game cant find them
check all your xml files for errors, use a validator to make sure something wasnt skipped
@@JosieGarfunkle I got it all sorted I just added my mod list in Object spawner format if that makes sensem after watching a dozen times i spotted it

You can't add actual mods on console dude. You can only reconfigure what they give you that you already see
I'm not able to find the keys folder from the game to drag the mod keys into. Any ideas of what I can do to wipe it all and start over fresh?
