7029 'Clun Castle' storms through Dorridge on 'The Shakespeare Express' ft The SVR 27/8/23

- On what was a by chance Sunday afternoon outing, this week saw plenty of steam action around the Midlands as per usual for the August Bank Holiday. While the Severn Valley Railway had their summer timetable in action, 7029 'Clun Castle' was in charge of Vintage Trains 'Shakespeare Express'.
Captured on it's first return to run of the day to Birmingham Snow Hill, Tyseley's flag ship GWR 'Castle' 7029 'Clun Castle' is seen roaring through Dorridge after re-joining the Chiltern Mainline at Hatton Junction.
There was enough time in between runs (or so we thought) to pop over and capture the afternoons action at the Severn Valley Railway. GWR Pannier 7714, Bulleid Light Pacific 21C127 'Taw Valley' and Class 37 263 were rostered, and all three are seen in the Northwood Lane area.

Sadly with the Castle running early on it's second run back to Birmingham there wasn't time to reposition for that run so the day ended there. However it was a lovely afternoon all in all. Hope you enjoy!

Great shot of Clun storming up to Dorridge. So overgrown now, used to be able to see well past Darley Green bridge. Ive seen many of the famous locos climb this rise. Always spectacular. I noticed the pannier giving its springs a good testing too, lol 🤣 👍👍👍👍
Excellent video of Clun Castle in action as well the Pannier, Taw Valley and the Class 37 on the Severn Valley 👍👍 I’m interested to see this loco at Kings Cross soon in late September.
