    I love preloved bags..I can actually use the bag without the fear. Vintage Louis vuitton hands down is my favorite. The quality is everything and I have had nothing but great experiences with Japanese sellers on EBay. Thanks for sharing🤗.

    I got a preloved Dionysus at an amazing price because the suede was dingy. Took it to the cobbler for a cleaning and now it looks brand new.

      How good is that!!! I didn't know they cleaned bags there, very good to know. Thank you for sharing!

    Great video with lots of useful tips. One thing I will take on as I also buy bags at the lower end of the price spectrum - ones that usually have something wrong with them - is re-colouring dark-coloured scuffs. I use alcohol markers for permanent colour and practice mixing the shade on paper or old clean fabric before daring to deal with the bag itself!! My 'draw-the-line' point when purchasing is if the material (leather, PVC etc) has actually torn at the corners especially where thin bounding cord or wire has been used and is peeking through the tear. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and you have yourself a new subscriber. Thanks.

    Great video! I LOVE and buy and resell vintage Gucci almost exclusively. A trick for flaking interior is just use a dry boar bristle (or rougher) brush gently no soap or water and it’ll clean out beautifully. Then there’s no need to dry or worry about wet leather just a lot of. You can use a vacuum extension and just gently get the dust as you go it works very well. I’ve done about 35 ish bags this way and the longest it took me was about 1.5 to 2 hours. The darker the interior the longer it takes. Also for vintage LV flaking interiors may be fixed but a sticky peeling interior can NOT be helped you would have to completely replace the lining. Just wouldn’t want you to get stuck with an impossible project. Hope maybe some of this helps. I love the vintage content 😊

      Hey Whitney this comment is amazing, I want to share it with my followers if that’s okay? Some great information and looking back when I had a flaking Gucci interior I should have tried the dry brush method. I wasn’t able to do that with my recent restoration as the interior was flaking and sticky BUT in future with any that are flakey I will definitely refrain from using water. Thank you again XX ❤️

    I love LV epi leather too, I only fell in love with it after I got my noe. I have a ysl vintage bucket bag that has a non removable strap which is too short to wear cross body and I’m undecided as to whether I should have the strap removed and replaced with d rings so I can use a generic strap. I think I would use it much more if I did that, though if I ever decide to resell it would probably damage the resale price a lot. I’ve only ever seen one or two other the same on the resale market. What would you do?

    • @byShannon
      @byShannon  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Wendy, that is a hard one. If I were you, if I knew I would wear the bag a lot by replacing the strap myself then I would do that. But if I felt like even with a new strap I may only wear it sometimes then I would probably sell it ands the money to buy a bag you know you will wear. I hope that helps? Xx

    I just recently received my petite noe and it had no date code. 😫 Bagaholic DID authenticate my bag without the date code based on all the photos of the rest of my bag. I felt so relieved because although it most definitely looked authentic, there is always that small fear it isn't. Loved this video and all the tips! Thanks Shannon 💕

    • @byShannon
      @byShannon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my gosh!!! You have made my day, I honestly didn't think they would authenticate without a date code. I had a LV wallet they wouldn't authenticate without the date code but maybe that was just a one off. I am going to 100% get my Noe GM authenticated by them now. Thanks so much for your love and watching my video it means a lot to me Xx

    I’ve heard creases will come out by stuffing and adding heat. Sit it outside in the sun, or try a blow dryer to heat it up to reconfirm it’s shape.

    I don’t think newer LV bags actually have brass hardware, or if they do, the plating is much thinner. I have an authentic speedy B that I bought from the LV store in 2015 and the hardware is actually rubbish. It’s so disappointing because I don’t think I can polish it up as it’s essentially just silver/stainless steel now! The same thing happened to my authentic LV zippy compact wallet that I’ve since sold. Really bloody frustrating. I definitely would not buy newer LV products now because I do think their hardware is much worse than it used to be! Vintage bags are just so much better!

      Hey Katie, thank you for sharing...that is interestingI had no idea! I have never bought a new LV piece so I wouldn't know but I will definitely do some research into this to see what they use now xx

      This has stopped me buying new LV as well.
      I heard LV stopped using full brass in the 90s, then downgraded metal type again around 2017. Boo!
      If they at least chose a metal that doesn’t wear like garbage, that would be fine!
      I’d love to hear about it if you find any info about the changes.

    • @katieesalibaa
      @katieesalibaa ปีที่แล้ว

      @@byShannon defs research this if you can because I would love to learn more too!! I’m keen to buy vintage LV but I just don’t know what year LV made the change from brass to its current rubbish hardware.
      I really want to try brasso on my hardware but I think it’s a lost cause. I just hate that these luxury brands are now objectively making worse products but charging substantially more. It’s so depressing :(

  • @G..G..

    Why don't you use polishing clothes for LV brass instead of Brasso? Less mess, less work.
