- KBOI-TV special presentation looking into the history of Canyon County, Idaho.
From a massacre near Middleton, to Chinese tunnels under Nampa, to the assassination of a former Idaho Governor in Caldwell, and a bandit called "Red Eye Pete", this is a collection of stories that helped shape Idaho history.
The county is celebrating its 120 year anniversary in 2012.

Awesome! Thanks KBOI and crew ...
I'm Japanese but lived here for over 40 years. I have always been interested in Chinese(oriental in general, too) history in Idaho. Thanks for posting.
i loved this!!!!
Notus is the name of the Greek God of the South Wind in their mythology. In the early years of Notus lived emigrates from Greece working for the Rail Road. The likelihood of not us becoming Notus is very doubtful but Notus having folk tales on a play on words seem more likely.. One instance is an accounting of the famous Dance Hall in Notus that brought about many stories, sometimes with lack of clarity due to consumption of liquor which brought about fights,
Respect to Mrs. Lowell but her story of Notus getting its name is only a folk tale. This tale has been retold in various verison. The documented story of how Notus got its name is the Rail Road named its' sighting, where the well and windmill for water for the locomotive was located.
I'd trust a 102-year-old native historian whose family ties go back to the origin of the county and whose namesake is responsible for roads, subdivisions and lakes in the area over a rando on the internet. Thank for your completely untrustworthy commentary on a matter in which you are not a certified expert.
Try it again. It works for me.
