Guys, don’t ever complaint about your job, if you don’t like it, please look for another alternative instead of fighting with management or co-workers. Understanding of YOURSELF is more important. Don’t set you career goal based on things you wants buy instead looking for how you can retired in 10 to 15 years by working for people. Set the ultimate goal and go after that for next 10-15 years. @ set an expectations with your seniors, I would say a coffee talk with your lead on working hours, learning curve and future plan. Working longer hours is common, is like a starting a business but remember once you mastered the process, you will get what you suppose to get.
@ your goal should be maximum 2 years in each job or position and learn as much as you can during this period. If you can do this, I bet you will reach the managerial positions. You not an employee but a service provider to your company. Work with this mindset.

I am 70 years now. The present living style demands more money and our our attention to family and children as we go elder, at least to the our children stand on their foot. Generally by the time our energy to take care our children ends our children should run their family. It may be at our 55-65 age. IT always look for new blood and brain. Fresher is always with new ideas, adaptable, free from family chores etc. so every IT company is in need of fresher only. Many many advantages to the IT company with youngsters. But these youngsters become elder, responsible to their children and family. What I am drawing here is, like agniveer, the IT job should be for a period limited to 10 years. They should be paid well-at least 5 times of what they get now. Else they should be paid pension by the company after 10 years.
I work in IT. I love the job I do, although it is not an exciting job, as no upskilling space is there in my job, If you try upskilling you will be stopped to do it. I do my job and come. Toxic workplace is of course stressful. I feel many HR backstab employees making fake promises. Remember always to love your job and not the company, colleagues and boss. They might never need you, they can dispose of you anytime and never care for your health. This applies even for HR, who always take the company side, when they need to take employee side in most of situations. Keep upskilling, this applies even for non-it. Regarding salary, many product based IT are paying so well. I feel average senior software engineer payscale is 25L/annum - 27L/annum (assumption: top performer).
@dharun102Core is the best job👍👍 I worked in core as well as ites..... Core job is standard one ... In IT/ITes you need to keep on upgrade your skills... It is based on your interest and fond of the field. Emerging sector pay you well..

Most of IT peoples dont have much idea about work culture, work life Balance, work stress on outside IT industry. If you are not happy in IT, try to do some work on other industry. If you still think you are not happy in IT, your passion is not here or you are in wrong place.

Pay the price first folks and don’t wish for easy life.

And as a fresher, how can I get Work-life balance? As there is no time limit for the work.
I am not getting relevant experience and also working whole day. Can anyone help me out?
@ set an expectations with your seniors, I would say a coffee talk with your lead on working hours, learning curve and future plan. Working longer hours is common, is like a starting a business but remember once you mastered the process, you will get what you suppose to get.
@ your goal should be maximum 2 years in each job or position and learn as much as you can during this period. If you can do this, I bet you will reach the managerial positions. You not an employee but a service provider to your company. Work with this mindset.
I left IT after 19 years of working. I'm in USA though and IT was handy making me survive in USA
IT people are earning more than 50-60% than other professionals, so challenges will be there, of course toxic environment is brutal and difficult to overcome, but see the other side too, every job has its own difficulties. IT field is not permanent, always people working in IT should accumulate money during their job and should plan for their life after 45, because they will throw away after 45..
Atleast someone in the comments talked reality. Trust me that's true. I have been in this industry for 16 yrs.
@@natraj6120 Sir is it true that in IT sector life becomes very hard after 45? Because if you check on the internet, people confuse you ... Some say, it's a myth, if you have skills no one can fire you... Some say after 45 you won't get any call for the Job ... Some say you will have to move to higher management anyhow... Some say after 45 if you don't have good people management skills and communication skills, you won't be able to move to management position. I want to know from you what is the truth? Is it really the worst situation? Also currently the people 45+ who are in IT, how are they managing?

@@ivar-jm7vj i will help u with my experience so you can plan better. Your life will be hell if you work for a corporate because you are been taken granted for long working hrs unless u endup in a good people around you. You have to constantly switch companies 2-3 yrs to keep salary to the market rate. You need to make enough backup for atleast 10-15X of your annual expenses by the end of 10 yrs. If you are still passionalte in what your are doing then keep learning new tech and upgrade urself. in this industry u r easily replaceable. At some age especially after 35 it will become generally hard for many to keep learning new tech or upgrading.there is always more screen time which you cannot afford at that age. i realised this long time back and started to plan well with my savings. Today i have 30X of my current annual expenses and planning to retire or switch roles/careers in next 5 yrs to the most. since i have lot of dependants i just need to backup few more savings to cover their medical costs. i always wanted to work on my own terms so that planning started back in 2012 helped me a lot today. these savings are the blood shed hardwork of my 16 yrs
