This is wonderful in so many ways. What a lovely, thoughtful person. And how generous of him to share the story of his love and mastery of the instrument. ♥️🌹🎶
Whoa! It's great to see this on TH-cam. A friend of mine who worked for an music supply distributor stole a copy this video for me in the early '00s and I watched it a couple dozen times before I lost it. It had a huge impact on me, and it really brings back some memories of that time. Thanks for posting it!
This band is just amazing! They recorded in Seville, Spain in 1994 or 1995 for the CD... "Live". That CD and this band opened my ears in a way I thought not possible. So good... thanks for finding this gem!
Such a sweet guy. He's not awkward, he's got humility, something completely LACKING in guitarists of today. Phenomenal playing regardless, I couldn't care less if he was a complete asshole or the most awkward weirdo ever. I thought this video was great!
Someone above already identified it, but in case you miss those, it's a Klein. They stopped making them years ago, so finding one can be tricky, and the cost is several grand I believe. Frisell, David Torn, and Jody Fisher have all made amazing music on them.
The other day I read a comment of someone that said, that bill is weird or awkward. I don't find it anymore But I have to disagree with that.. he is not weird or awkward at all. When he's telling something he sometimes thinks a little longer about what to say which makes a longer pause and no one says anything. This is not awkward at all because he is actually only prudent and careful with what he says. Shouldn't more people be that careful? Isn't it more weird to tell anyone any shit without thinking about it?
Of cause it`s no use to quarrel about it - the difference in my ears sounds like this: in the first Version, Frisell follows Baker, here Baron follows Frisell. If this is more to your liking, why not? Kind regards
Hello Bill, I bet you would have said, if you do your justice, you haven't really learned anything about guitar playing in BerkLee, especially from the guy named Leavitt ? You hanged a lot with Mike Gibbs during your school years at Berklee, You may have inspired by Mike , though ? All the best to you !
Huh? No offense to Ginger, but Joey Baron is a fantastic drummer and much more simpatico to the breadth of what Bill's about. This trio (and quartet with Hank Roberts) changed my way of hearing and perceiving music.
Meh, by most accounts ive read ginger baker is a complete pile of shit, kinda makes you wonder how he and bill found each other musically, since most accounts of bill are that hes an eternally nice person.

I love it; if I ever find one when I have the cash, I'm getting it. Beautiful to me, but to each their own.
This is incredible. Would have never found this, thanks for sharing.
One of the greats.
Thank YOU for watching and appreciating!

Such a beautiful soul.
I miss this band; their music is fantastic and singular; thanks for posting (if you have permission from Bill).
My first guitar hero was Chet Atkins Man U R great to.
Interesting! Does anybody know what guitar he is using here? I've seen it before, a long time ago.
Greetings from Holland!
Klein headless guitar...made by Steve Klein from Sonoma, California.
work on phrasing by putting on an Alison Krauss ballad and play the melody along with her vocal; try to emulate her vocal inflections on the guitar.
Cool idea. Edith Piaf, too
genius :)
My New Guitar Hero...along with Holdsworth, Zappa and Joe Pass
It's not that hard to find the video, go to the DVD section of the store on Bill's own website...

Ahhh, Bill ain't here dude.
I have the original video tape. ❤
He's awkard on camera, and in person. Got to meet him before a show once. He
was so awkard it made me nervous.
Sometimes awkward people are the nicest people. He's definitely one of the most creative minds of our time.
I think he isn't awkard. He's silent and shy. Pretty sympathetic guy and definitly one of the most important guitarplayers..
@thomasboere Dave Holland ? xD

That first live jam is great, what the hell was that guitar?
It's a Klein headless. Made by luthier Steve Klein.
What kind of guitar is it?
I think it's "Little Bobby," but I could be wrong. It's not a jam.
The first guitar is a klein
too bad this isn't in a higher fidelity
That's a Klein.
comments like this make me sad
Without Ginger Baker, this song doesn`t make any sense...
That comment doesn't make any sense.
Great Playing! Ugly guitar.. :-)
obviously fake
Such a beautiful soul.
such a perfect dscription...:-)
