Luka Vegan So you know the real truth then? I doubt that brand as big as Canada Goose would be able to make a lie like that without people finding out. From their faq: "Canada Goose does NOT use any down from live-plucking. Feather Industries Canada Limited, our ONLY supplier of down, has a longstanding corporate policy on NEVER purchasing any duck or goose down or feather materials that have been harvested by live-plucking."
+DerrajCM So what does that mean? Ducks are killed to harvest their down then? Or do Canada Goose employees just take long outdoor walks and pick up feathers that have accidentally fallen off ducks? I'm not attacking you or anyone. I just want to know the truth, like you do. And yes, sometimes clothing manufacturers do turn a blind eye (willingly or not) to the origins of their materials.
I LOVE my coats. I own two Canada Goose coats and right now it’s -10 in Wisconsin and I don’t feel a thing when I step outside. It’s unbelievable. For people who say they’re too expensive: they cost less than an iPhone and they are good for 15 years or so. It’s well worth it to not be cold.
the Irony of a dickhead wearing real coyote on their jacket but wouldn’t be able to kill and process that animal if their life depended on it. It’s 2020, only morons wear real fur on a jacket that they wear to happy hour.
"Animal cruelty! Animal cruelty!"... killing other animals for their meat is also animal cruelty, buying clothes from almost any clothingstore contributes to cheap/child labor in India, buying toys contributes to cheap/child labor in China and driving a car also contributes to pollution. Almost everything we consume contributes to something negative in the world, so I get the point about animal cruelty but there are a lot of other things that have a negative consequence somewhere in this world. So if you think using real fur and using down is animal cruelty, I agree with you but take a look at yourself and see what kind of negative consequences your shopping and traveling behaviour have for the rest of the world.

It gets cold in northern Ohio where I'm from, but a $100 or so winter coat is good enough for me if you find the right one. CG is just way too expensive. And I only need a warm coat to walk to the car, across a lot & back.
@pinkfreud62 I agree. The main difference is the fit and finish of Arcteryx. I can keep 'warm enough' with much cheaper coats of course, that has never been a problem (except torrential rain). But it feels nicer wearing Arcteryx and more reliable for extended bad weather periods.

You kill poor coyotes!!! For this fur!! U don't even think about what you are doing to them... You are cruel creatures you don't understand.. what if someone killed you and your family for fur.
I have owned and bought Canada Goose Parkas since they came on the market. I bought a red or dark grey one. I live in upstate NY in the Mountains. These parkas are the best. You buy quality, and you'll be warm for years. I visited friends in Canada when the weather was below minus 40 C. I wasn't cold, except for my legs since I did not wear thick, long undies.
Just bought a used CG Chiliwack bomber jacket off Grailed that’s in good condition with a model that still has the fur attached still and that cannot be removed/detached. I hope it lives up to the quality that this company seems to have. Excited to see how this used CG jacket I got fairs this winter in the Chicago area!

Most people who wear Canada goose don’t even live near the arctic. People just buy it for the label. Toronto isn’t even that cold in the winter, it will rarely even get to -1F
After watching their manufacturing factory, I can be 95% confident and tell you the reason why it's worth 1000 dollars is mostly the inefficient labor, pipeline.
They still charge too much for them, if North Face being the second biggest Outerwear manufacturer for cold weather does not charge that much for most of their jackets (their great quality jackets are somewhere around $400-600) a little bit of extra fur does not cost that much, canada goose has become a brand name and you're definitely paying to get a bite out of it, I went to a mall in a rich neighborhood in new york once, I swear to god EVERYONE had a canada goose jacket, I was legit the only person with a north face jacket on.
these are pretty much the new North Face in New York. Prices have gone up about 20 percent in the past 4-5 years. Price wise, after adjusting for inflation they aren't much more than what North Face parkas went for when they blew up in NY 15-20 years ago. Another thing is that New York is an expensive place to live. Even the not so nice pricey areas, you pay $3-4k a month for a 2-3 bedroom apartment in a building that looks like the projects. Yet, these jackets are the same price as anywhere in the country. So relatively they are cheaper in expensive cities.
Real fur is, in fact, a VERY luxurious item, why? Because almost no one uses real fur anymore and it comes from animals and the labor to make fur anything is usually done all by hand. Look at all the women in russia, most of them wear all fur jackets, but they cost thousands of dollars.
Motor78 they don’t cost thousands of dollars. I’m russian myself and i can tell you, those jackets, despite being real, do not cost as much as you think. Why? Because fur in countries such as russia is a necessary item. Real fur doesnt freeze, faux fur does. Fur, in general, is not a luxury. The only reason as to why nobody wears real fur is because companies do not use real fur. Why? Theyll recieve backlash and hate for using animal fur. You can literally buy real fur for not a lot. It’s farmed in china as mass produce basically, and is then sold.
Seriously over-priced. I was working on a project in a country with very cold winters. Bought a coat with thick duck feather interior, waterproof shell, fox fur on the hood. Cost 160 euro, made in Germany. Canada Goose, you just pay for the name.
Bought a CG Eexpedition parka last winter. I just sold it and bought a Triple Fat Goose Chenega II parka. Issues with CG? Yes, they're overpriced, given that they have solid competition today. The Expedition was like wearing a tent; the Chenega II fits MUCH better, and has more duck down than the Expedition...so yes, it IS warmer than the Expedition, and FAR LESS bulk. On the Expedition, I didn't care for - - the velcro fasteners, always closing when you don't want them to (Chenega II uses amazingly simple, large snaps) - - the reverse, left handed zipper on the Expedition has to be worst design on any parka...and the zipper was not nearly as smooth as the YYK zipper on the Chenega II - - the hand warming pockets were too low on the parka, whereas the Chenega II pockets are at the perfect height and super warm. $ for $, same exceptional quality and designs of equal appeal. I don't regret my decision.
the jacket is extremely durable and you’d probably could buy one and use it for a lifetime, so all the other poor quality jackets u bought in your life span would probably equal the same amount. in the long run, it’s a very good investment
4:50 . Isn't anything that's blue is the ice shelf and the white is the antarctic land mass? At least on the original US Antarctic Expedition patches that's what it was
Quality, materials, brand name, function and style. It is honestly worth every penny. Once you buy one of their jackets you’ll never have to buy another jacket.
Radical Vegan Girl there is bo animal cruelty tho. They clearly state onall their jacket that the down is plucked from the ground or when the goose is dead.
DreamOfMine what about the coyotes? They are pests and are just being hunted. How is that animal cruelty. ”But when they get trapped they get hurt and suffer until the hunters come and shoot them” canada goose hunters uses rubbertraps.
Pyro So who gets to determine that the coyotes are pests? Nature is in perfect balance and us humans should not intervene to disrupt that balance. Whether or not they are pests, they are in nature for a reason. For example, if I see an injured rabbit by natural causes, I wouldnt purposely try to rescue it by taking it to the vet. It's the circle of life and the balance in nature. And it's not right for us to be intervene and disrupt that balance for LUXURY and CONSUMERISM.
Pyro I am not oppose to people using fur for their survival. Like people living in inclement weather 24/7. I thank and appreciate that about animals, for providing us with what's ESSENTIAL, not WANTS. If people hunted or trappef animals for survival like how they did in the paleolithic age, I would not have any complaints.
It’s good quality but at least the could have made it waterproof at that price point plus you can only wear it in extreme cold weather otherwise you will be carrying it under your shoulder due to suffocating warmth but most of all it’s just a status !
+Laura Wild first of all, just because I don't care about the company doesn't mean I'm cold and heartless. If they were torturing the animals then that would be another story, but they aren't.
+Emma Douglas how is trapping coyotes and causing bodily harm, and suffering until the hunter comes and shoots him in the head not torture? is having the animal sit there with a broken paw dying of hypothermia, starvation and bleeding to death not torture?
Interesting video! The coats are expensive but worth it. I have the big arctic parka but the badge on mine reads "Snow Goose" which was the name of the company before they changed it to Canada Goose. Those coats have been standard gear on every winter film set I have been on over the last 30 years.
Fml all these people in the comments Canada goose make warm af jackets alright? Like that’s the whole point of their brand, they make the warmest jackets around Canada goose don’t kill these coyotes, the down they use is a BY-PRODUCT of coyote hunting This means that Canada goose aren’t out to kill coyotes, but when they are killed, by something out of Canada Goose’s control, the least they can do is turn part of the coyote into something people will use. Wearing a Canada goose jacket doesn’t make you anymore or less than a person, and in no way makes you ”support” animal cruelty It’s just a really fucking warm jacket
The pattern of this brand is more conspicuous. If two people are walking together at the same time, it feels that this is the uniform of a company employee, and the clothes are more bloated, and there is an old-fashioned feeling. The day of purchase is the pursuit of the brand, not at all. good looking! The old saying goes: "The label doesn't make sense!
@@DMWBN3 So, using pelts to make a coat is somehow wrong? Do recall that not only did people use pelts for centuries to accommodate for means of warmth, but coyotes are recognized as nuisance animals. It would be inhumane, in our own rightful dissertions, to harvest an animals hide that yields otherwise. That is why not only on their site, but in interviews by the company themselves, recognize that the pelts are harvested in the most humane means possible. So again: detail, Detail, DETAIL.
@@DMWBN3 Also, never was it, in the videos entirety, that coyotes were skinned alive in order to make the coats. This recognizes inumerably cruel and indecent actions against the animal otherwise, which would taint both reputations of company and interviewer.

Motor78 You have to put into consideration they are made in Canada so you have a higher production cost, that’s the main factor in the price
these are pretty much the new North Face in New York.
Fur isnt a luxury item yknow lol
Geese and coyotes dont feel pain, they are just animals.
Fact:
They suffer and loose there lives to keep ignorance warm and cozy.
I have a triple fat goose Huron and completely agree they are a lot better quality than Canada goose
Every UK roadman owns this
They have ruined the brand IMO
Best of the best
the jacket is extremely durable and you’d probably could buy one and use it for a lifetime, so all the other poor quality jackets u bought in your life span would probably equal the same amount. in the long run, it’s a very good investment
absolutely
if only they were cruelty free
More of an Ad than an informational vid
I love how the “goose feathers”(aka coyote fur) is so fashionable on this coat and it’s nothing like a coat I bought from Sainsbury’s for 25 quid
👍🏽Like if you own a Canada goose coat
5:10 love how all the grandmas are there
4:50 . Isn't anything that's blue is the ice shelf and the white is the antarctic land mass? At least on the original US Antarctic Expedition patches that's what it was
White is land mass. Blue are the glaciers on top of the land mass.
So what exactly makes these $1000??
Grg Ng the name of course
i can see that you have never owned one of these jackets
Luxury brand
becasue its keeps u warm under a very cold weather like -10 C or -20 C its quality materials thats why + the "brand"
Quality, materials, brand name, function and style. It is honestly worth every penny. Once you buy one of their jackets you’ll never have to buy another jacket.
They look very cozy
**Conveniently skips the animal cruelty**
Radical Vegan Girl there is bo animal cruelty tho. They clearly state onall their jacket that the down is plucked from the ground or when the goose is dead.
What about the coyotes then?????
Please do your research first before sounding so ignorant
Hahaha they are using the same sewing machines I use at work ! 😆
Ppl in Vancouver wears this and it never drops below 0
but its a fire jacket though
You left out all the animal torture like the coyote's suffering in leg hold traps for hours while they attempt to bite their paw off.
Think I’ll stay with my north face..
North face ain’t cheap mate still expensive
Certified Driller its like 50 euro lol
@@certifieddriller2517 8x cheaper mate
@@infinity1862 50 euro? A TNF coat that compares to a Canada is about 550 euro, you’re mad.
@@emulatorgaminguk2751 no it’s not relax, north face coats are like €80 , ur just mad
2:10, “búNnDülLīnG”
they forgot to tell the number of ducks that have lost their lives for one jacket .
this is the worlds most infamous logo. The bright color red, resembling blood and the hunting they do on these jackets speaks for itself.
How about showing the duck factories and unparalleled suffering?
I'd still buy it. doesn't mean I'm a bad person. just means I can get over it
Not abuse.
+Laura Wild in your opinion. Abuse is 'mistreatment'.
+Brian Gnow humans before animals. Pls get over it
I love my Canada Goose parka. On par, if not better than a North Face jacket I own.
Interesting video! The coats are expensive but worth it. I have the big arctic parka but the badge on mine reads "Snow Goose" which was the name of the company before they changed it to Canada Goose. Those coats have been standard gear on every winter film set I have been on over the last 30 years.
I agree expnsive AF, but my god, i have never had a fever or a cold after bying it! LOL
I love my Canada goose got it custom with extra fur thanks coyotes for giving me your fur 🙏🏻🙏🏻
They had to go through extreme pain, they do not fill warmed by helping you.
you forgot the part where the coyote is left to suffer in a hunters trap for 3 days then shot in the head.
Yeah so sad
Not sad its cold
Just got my black langford pricey but best coat ive ever purchased
Fml all these people in the comments
Canada goose make warm af jackets alright? Like that’s the whole point of their brand, they make the warmest jackets around
Canada goose don’t kill these coyotes, the down they use is a BY-PRODUCT of coyote hunting
This means that Canada goose aren’t out to kill coyotes, but when they are killed, by something out of Canada Goose’s control, the least they can do is turn part of the coyote into something people will use.
Wearing a Canada goose jacket doesn’t make you anymore or less than a person, and in no way makes you ”support” animal cruelty
It’s just a really fucking warm jacket
Ruairi Ryan-Watson warmest jackets around? Lol gotta love these outdoors posers....
You are flat out dumb. Google Coyote Down. Good luck.
Ruairi Ryan-Watson bro have u even seen a coyote been killed and given to Canada goose ye I’ve seen lots of vids on the deep web
Not gonna mention how they make the fur trim for the hood?
Love this brand❤️
Why
@@Maximilikus because the jackets warm and comfortable and look nice
@@abcdefghiijk8043 and cost a million bucks lol
The pattern of this brand is more conspicuous. If two people are walking together at the same time, it feels that this is the uniform of a company employee, and the clothes are more bloated, and there is an old-fashioned feeling. The day of purchase is the pursuit of the brand, not at all. good looking!
The old saying goes: "The label doesn't make sense!
still made by asian lol
So?
I have a Canada goose but it’s just a puffer jacket not a parka as I feel that it isn’t wrong nor right that they use fur from coyotes
Does it show how the animals are treated whilst being farmed for their fur ?
I'm no animal rights vegan type but heard some not so nice stories.
Yeah, those are "stories" not liable accounts of actual cruelty directed towards animals. Note:There's a DIFFERENCE.
ブランドン死神 they use coyote and the video said in some cases the coyote were skinned alive to harvest their fur.
ブランドン死神 in another video I've seen. Just because pelts were used in the past, doesn't make it correct now. Like Japan still whaling, and them thinking that's ok, when it's not.
Now I know how to make my own jacket
And they just skip how they go about getting all that down. 🤔
Is it a secret? Doesnt need to be said
It’s from geese in the poultry industry
Just got my self a chateau Canada goose so exited
“You will not be cold” and “we make the warmest jackets on earth” bullshit I’ve had a Mac Kage, Canada goose and a wool rich and all three were equally warm but I was still getting cold and I live in nyc which doesn’t even get that cold.
Can they talk about the animals and what they do to the animals
