Working down south is very vague and nothing got done. And people don't do confrontation in public often so things that are uncomfortable rarely get addressed. This is more cultural then laziness.

Man the early episodes of STW were so great an fun to listen to but man conrad would get hot an bent out of shape when Bruce gave him a answer he didnt like lmao like when he was asked about why they didn't consider joe in the wwe earlier
It was as annoying then as it is now listening to it again. I mean seriously why couldn't conrat understand that Bruce was giving him what Vince and those in the office thought, as to why Joe wasn't good enough, and that was not what Bruce himself felt, but he was not the one who made the decision. Vince made the decision and he's telling conrat why he did that and I don't know what other answer he was looking for when he knows very well that is how Vince thinks. Umaga was already there before as Jamal in 3 min warning.
Yeah, that merchandise mentality ruins a lot of great TV Shows as well. The same thing happened to Static Shock, and other legendary cartoons. I'm surprised that a business cared more about per heads than actually doing record numbers and attracting a greater audience
I see a HUGE issue on this episode... Bruce states TNA/Dixie Carter didn't ask for anyone but Christian Cage for the Ric Flair 4 Horsemen HOF swap. But on their WWE Network cast recently, Bruce said Dixie demanded Cena as trade for Ric at first... Well? which is it?
Joseph Charles I believe him here because when WWE does documentaries I’ve pretty much learned not to believe them if it’s produced by WWE. WWE is going to put out whatever truth they want the general public to believe. That’s why there is so many people out there today that really believe that WCW died and that’s why they went away because they started sucking and WWF made them go away. Did WCW suck the last two years they were in business? Yes they did, however by the logic that WW we would have you believe if WWE been that much better than WCW would’ve shut down in 1991. When WCW shut down they did not have the ratings WWE had a WCW was still the highest rated show on TNT. The people that bought turn our soul every subsidiary turner had. The Atlanta Hawks and the Atlanta Braves have nothing to do with the wrestling bubble but yet they were sold to. By the way I also think the entire book of the death of WCW was complete shit too. But yeah any documentary WWE puts out especially if it’s something on a Nother company or involves another company I don’t believe a word of it.
Why would I believe what dixie says on a wwe produced documentary? And on top of that how she was dealing with the Brooke Hogan situation telling Bruce one thing and then Hulkster another thing. And Hulk himself saw what she was doing.
Spouting shit about James Storm here, everyone wanted him to be the guy to take down Roode the story was excellent but Austin Aries was on fire at the time so putting the belt on him became imperative so James was a victim of circumstance. You don't need to work for the company to know that it's obvious.
998 likes & 1986 I watched Ric Flair vs Magnum T.A. @ Huntington WV .60 minutes flew by .Great House Show card !RNR Express, Russians,4 horseman, Jimmy Valient& more
The young bucks still have no ring psychology. They’re over with the 2 million wrestling fans that are left, the other 8 million fans that gave up on wrestling aren’t the biggest fans of what they do. The 2 million fans that are left though however are the type of vans that are just your typical smart fans Who think a great worker is someone that does 200 high spots a match and really don’t know a damn thing about working. To Jay’s vans that are fans of the current product don’t know what ring psychology is into them if you just do 200 high spots that means the match was good. That’s why when you watch wrestling today the fans don’t pop up like they did in the 80s and 90s they’re more interested in chanting along with the Roessler’s or chanting this is awesome after a hard spot because they’re not invested in the story that’s being told they’re invested in the moves it.
sure, but thats like comparing shit to piss! Neither one is comparable to NJPW or WWE! Ok, so the piss(Roh) doesn't smell as bad as the shit(TNA)... But the wrestling companies (NJPW, WWE) and not the same thing!
5000 tickets? At say low avg $35 each thats 175000 in tickets sales. At $17 a head merch thats 75000 in merch. So about 250k brought in for the show. If abg ticket was around $35. Given it was TNA avg could be as low as 15$.

something different? sorry bruce but hogan and biscoff tried the same thing they did in wcw by going up against vince on mondays, that is not new or different, sounds like trying to repeat the same shit with less money.
Doug Unfunny it was different for TNA. However the problem was that they did the same thing they did in WCW in 1999 and it felt like “the same old shit” I’m a big fan of Hall , Nash, and Waltman and I was huge fan of the nWo the first 2 years. However when they put the nWo back together in early 99 it hit me in the face really hard that while the nWo was a great idea, it’s all they had and they didn’t know what else to do. When they “put the band back together “ in TNA it just felt like they were trying to catch Lightning in a bottle again but this time everyone’s 10 years older. The could of have done more with those guys besides the nWo but they never tried.
True. With Bully Ray as champ, X division with Zema Ion and Austin Aires, and Chris Sabin, and Chris Daniels, Kazarian etc. Knockout division, aces and eights storyline with AJ styles teasing that he would join, before that James storm and Bobby roode rivalry for the championship.
Brother Love vs The Red Rooster... I think Brother Love would definitely go over in that match... Terry Taylor/Red Rooster 🐓 or whatever they wanted to call him, the dude sucked
It's easy to say now it didn't work? People said that before TNA tried Hogan/Bischoff's plan. It's not hindsight. It was foresight at the time. Anyone with half a brain correctly identified what Hogan/Bischolff would do to TNA. Anyone with half a brain knew becoming WWE light wouldn't be good for TNA.

TL; DR: stfu, you idiot.
June Stormcrow It's true that a lot people from the deep south don't consider most of Virginia to be truly southern.
Kyle Gardner Oh, it's true they believe that, doesn't make it true. I'd even agree with them, if we're talking north of Williamsburg. That doesn't mean the extremely Southern residents of lower Virginia and Western Virginia wouldn't take offense.
@@dougnavarrone123 Richmond isn't like DC in my experience. DC people are more direct than Richmond folks. DC isn't as slow either.
The Bucks... most over rated synchronized tumblers ever...
For the record - The TNA VP for Programming actually admitted to paying Hulk and Bischoff four years ago.
1:04:52-Conrad is shocked by this?!?!?!
@15:06 - TNA Starts
I guarantee if the Bucks signed with WWE Bruce would’ve highly praised them
Bob Carter: “I gaht hulk hogan wraslin for meh” 😂
2:15:30 Bruce finally shut Conrad up for a moment.
I absolutely love Bruce now after what he said about The Young Bucks. Absolutely despise them. Hell I’d take a bullet for Bruce now.
Yeah, that merchandise mentality ruins a lot of great TV Shows as well. The same thing happened to Static Shock, and other legendary cartoons. I'm surprised that a business cared more about per heads than actually doing record numbers and attracting a greater audience
Take a shot every time you hear “freestyle” and “rumor and innuendo”
Part owner could mean he owns 5 percent. I can see why they told people not to call him.
"I hope they can be saved..."
least convincing thing i've ever heard lol
Is Bruce for real? AJ is one of the best wrestlers in the world. So is Joe
Nah Joe wasted his prime in tNa he's just fat now he's hurt a lot and no where near what he used to b
@@jessieb9384 As Joe misses another WM because of injury 9 months after your comment.
Well? which is it?
listen to the podcast again, bruce corrects himself, and said that wanting Cena was for another incident and not the Flair swap.
Flair isn't worth Cena at this time in history
Why would I believe what dixie says on a wwe produced documentary? And on top of that how she was dealing with the Brooke Hogan situation telling Bruce one thing and then Hulkster another thing. And Hulk himself saw what she was doing.
bruce looks like he was just freed after having his head stuck in a freezer for 6-9 hours
Shit gets real @2:41:00 mind blown!🤯
The other guy sounds like he tried to eat an entire turkey and it got caught in his throat
Tall Jay Conrad is cool, go fist yaself twatwaffle.
Spouting shit about James Storm here, everyone wanted him to be the guy to take down Roode the story was excellent but Austin Aries was on fire at the time so putting the belt on him became imperative so James was a victim of circumstance. You don't need to work for the company to know that it's obvious.
“It’s not that hard - you just write mortgages all day.” - Bruce P.
“Vince wanted someone to carry Smackdown!”
“That’s why he put the belt on him - Vince sees that in 2016”
998 likes & 1986 I watched Ric Flair vs Magnum T.A. @ Huntington WV .60 minutes flew by .Great House Show card !RNR Express, Russians,4 horseman, Jimmy Valient& more
I'm sure Dixie is a nice person, but what an airhead.
Great description of the modern "smart" fans.
This was excellent 👍
It's funny how he's dismissing ROH when TNA wishes it was half the company ROH is now
sure, but thats like comparing shit to piss! Neither one is comparable to NJPW or WWE! Ok, so the piss(Roh) doesn't smell as bad as the shit(TNA)... But the wrestling companies (NJPW, WWE) and not the same thing!
Hot Water Manifesto NJPW isn't even in WWE's league. WCW was the only that even came close to dethroning them.
I don't think Hot Water is saying New Japan is gonna dethrone WWE, I think he meant only NJPW are anywhere near WWE's popularity
I think it was a joke, sounded like he had respect for ROH and the work they've done
Impact is doing really well actually, dare I say better than ROH atm (which has terrible booking)
The Bobby Roode prediction did not age well.
Obironnkenobi I feel like now it’s a slow build for Bobby. I still want him to be a world champion tho
Yeah I realized a month later after this post lol 😩😩😩
Conrad is the Suge Knight of wrestling podcasts
Meaning they’re both egotistical fat asses?
Bruce had multiple heart attacks? Never heard when that happened
16:35 not quite
He was part of the family. Holy shit lol
$35!!!?? FOR A MAN AS OVERGROWN AS BRUCE!
THAT'S FUCKING INHUMANE!
I 1000% agree with Bruce about the big deal in ROH thing! 1:03:24 lol idk why tf Conrad keeps name dropping them like that!🤦♂️
5000 tickets? At say low avg $35 each thats 175000 in tickets sales. At $17 a head merch thats 75000 in merch. So about 250k brought in for the show. If abg ticket was around $35. Given it was TNA avg could be as low as 15$.
Overheads alone would eat that up
Hey Conrad.....stop stealing from poor people.
Dixie Carter always came off to me as a southern Karen with wine addiction...
It sure is weird that the guy who worked right under Vince McMahon with all his "knowledge" never got $100 million to start his own company.
Great booking.... CENA stays on top because he leavs on top...
When he comes back... Its usually off a "HOT" injury angle
Conrad asks a question before Bruce can even answer goes off on some topic completely not related then before that second topic can get answered switches back to the first topic...it can be such a fucking chore getting through listening to these shows sometimes LOL
Its still true about the bucks today
So TNA is waffle house or?
Carver HAH!! They wish they could pull Waffle House numbers!
🤣
"That was a funny haha for both of you Chris Saban fans out there" ...damn Bruce, wipe the blood from your mouth
something different? sorry bruce but hogan and biscoff tried the same thing they did in wcw by going up against vince on mondays, that is not new or different, sounds like trying to repeat the same shit with less money.
He’s holding back about Terry, he was about to say something and stopped, and then said he found out from the assistant.
Cornette has said TT was always getting complaints for hitting on the girls lol.
I miss TNA wrestling.....There was a point when TNA was better than WWE in 2010,2011 and 2012......
Bruce worked in TNA but his mind has always been in wwe
Yes he was HORRIBLE
@@MrTNA-ml8ttReally? Even though he cared more about the TNA talent more than those in the TNA office did?
Brother Love vs The Red Rooster... I think Brother Love would definitely go over in that match... Terry Taylor/Red Rooster 🐓 or whatever they wanted to call him, the dude sucked
It's easy to say now it didn't work? People said that before TNA tried Hogan/Bischoff's plan. It's not hindsight. It was foresight at the time. Anyone with half a brain correctly identified what Hogan/Bischolff would do to TNA. Anyone with half a brain knew becoming WWE light wouldn't be good for TNA.
an AEW version of this podcast will air one day
