This will probably date me a bit, but I first heard the song, “Feels Like Home” in the 2003 movie, How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days. Something about it really struck me, and I decided to write an arrangement of it for harp, voice, and cello. Chantal Kreviazuk sang the version that appeared in the film. Randy Newman originally wrote it for his 1995 musical Randy Newman’s Faust. Though the musical was a complete flop, “Feels Like Home” has displayed some staying power. In addition to Newman, it has been performed by some truly outstanding performers, such as Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Josh Groban, Neil Diamond, Diana Krall, and Brian Adams to name a few. In my version, make sure you stick around until the second verse to hear the duet between the voice and the cello, which was played by my husband, Alex Keller. Wow!!! This is one of my favorite songs and I am a huge fan of Randy Newman. I've heard his version, Bonnie Raitt's and Cheryl Kreviazuk's version and this blew me away! Gorgeous!!! I wouldn't only ask to keep it exactly the same but add light percussion in the background. Light enough to not drown out the harp or cello but a hint of it. Beautiful voice, beautiful harp and beautiful cello. 9.5/10!!!
