I like to call Otome- Road the „calmer version“ of Akiba xD I know normally people say that Akihabara ist for men and Ikebukuro for woman but honestly as men myself I like to shop in the Otome Road as well. Like 10-20 years ago the deference was way more dominant but nowadays the goods sold in Akiba and Otome-Road are very similar except when it comes to mor NSFW goods, but I don’t buy such things anyway. Like Akiba is the place we’re I got to when I decided: „let’s spend the day doing otaku shopping“ meanwhile Ikebukuro is the place I go to when I decide „I have a few hours, let’s check out some stores real quick.“ Also I know this video is already quite old, but do you have a video, where we get to see the disc (especially CD) section a bit more? As that’s the things I am interested in the most, and sadly I haven’t been to Japan in a while…
Yeah, it's very big and fun, but on the other hand, it's better to have in mind what you would like to have concretely before entering the shop, otherwise you can easily get overwhelmed and get lost in the large number of goods, haha😆

But the kind of goods sold at the stores in Ikebukuro and Akihabara are quite different, generally the anime-related shops are: ・Ikebukuro = mainly aimed at girls and women ・Akihabara = mainly aimed at boys and men
