This was a wonderful series. Shame that the mint made these along with the peace dollars last year, but they got bought quickly, then resold for almost 3 times there value.😊👍😊😊👍👍
Morgan was the designer's name (George T. Morgan). The woman on the obverse is a representation of the goddess Columbia/Lady Liberty, and based on the likeness of a school teacher named Anna Willess Williams, who was fired from her job for the crime of modelling for the designer.
Thank you Christian for clarifying something about the composition of the 1921 Morgan. That is, I was under the mistaken impression that these coins did not contain 90% silver. And I'm pleased to know that they do. I've got a stupid question concerning the Mint Mark. I don't recall observing the Mint Marks on my 1921 s. How do you know if you have a Denver? Are there others without Mint Marks? If so, Does that mean the Morgan is a Philadelphia?
Perhaps you could help me out with a coin..? I have a 1921-D morgan vam-4a, which is old vam-1d.... I have not been able to compare a price guide... perhaps there WAS many of this variety, if so why has there only been 1 sell at heritage, ever since heritage started.... perhaps many were melted down? that would make mine rare as hens teeth. Is there a vam population guide around? thanks for any help
@@robertmcfall9071 thanks for the pictures, population? when I add up all auction records and pop reports from grading companies, appears to be less than 45 known.
I have 5 1921-D 's uncir. I'm looking to grade them, what is best way to do this. They are sealed together in one case, do the back isn't visable. Can send pics if needed.
very carefully with gloves to 2.5x2.5 inch flips to start, required by grading companies, unless you drive directly to them. And only touch the reeded edge. good luck
Thank you for having this amazing content!!
love the morgan dollars ... I have a few of these in my collection ... thanks for the helpful video
