this is one of the only videos that explains how to do the ring thoroughly enough that a beginner can do it, and I wish i would have found this wonderful video sooner.
Georgia, you are a very good teacher. Slow in the way you explain the technique which is absolutely marvelous and clear. That is the way one learns and understands. Thank you.

Great lesson! I emailed you for the classes and tonight I finally learned how to make everything you showed me. Where do you get your tatting thread? I have plenty of size 10 but I want to try a smaller size thread. I couldn’t quite understand the name of your threader. Would you let me know what it’s called? THANKS AGAIN ❤️ Can’t wait until tomorrow night and Lesson #3!!!
I wish I would have found you 2 weeks ago! You're a fantastic teacher! I only began learning needle tatting and had to fight every step of the way to learn what you explained so clearly here. From now on you are my teacher! Thank you so very much! You make learning to tat near effortless. :)
+Aislynn Garrabrant Thank you so much for watching. You ought to sign up for the classes. You will learn so much more in them and you'll get to meet so many wonderful people. Come join us in the fun. The link is above in the description box. Hope to see you there. Happy Tatting
+Georgia Seitz Online Beginning Needle Tatting Class Hello! Thank you for your reply and invitation. I have signed up for both, the classes as well as the yahoo group and am just awaiting replies on both. Do you know what the current schedule is? I looked but the last schedule listed is pretty old. I'm glad you replied about the class, or I may not have attempted to sign up- only because I ended up at that very same page several days ago through Google but due to the old schedule I just figured the classes were defunked by now. So thank you! I am so happy to learn the classes are still active! Thank you again, for the videos, the wonderful teaching and just- for everything! I look forward to hearing back on and in joining the classes and yahoo group. Cheers!
+Aislynn Garrabrant Hello and welcome to the classes. We have a few more still going on and then we have the summer break. The classes are as follows. Monday is the Ongoing Advanced Class, Tuesday is the Designers class, and Thursday is the beginners class. the time is from 2:30pm eastern time until 4 pm eastern time for all the early classes and the late evening classes begin at 8:30 pm eastern time. Check the world clock for your time zone at www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ I am looking forward to seeing you in them. I usually attend the early classes. Sometimes I get to attend the late evening classes. Cynthia Stevenson teaches the beginners class, Georgia herself teaches the ongoing class and Sue Fuller teaches the Design class. Once you get the information from either Cynthia or Georgia it works for all the classes as the classroom is open for use for all the classes. So it is the same time and same place. The days they are offered is the only difference. Happy tatting and I am so happy you joined the classes.
I have TRIED and TRIED and TRIED to figure which thread closes the ring. I guess I’m confused because the video shows about 3 threads in camera range when I was looking at at the ring being closed. OBVIOUSLY I’m a beginner and just practicing at this point so I need someone to hold my hand. LOL 😝 THANK YOU ❤️
I have to say you are AMAZING! I started a new project with the "true ring" it is so clean looking....THANK YOU! I wish we lived close, I'd love to have person to person help. Take care!
Thank you Diana. If you live in Kentucky then we could meet up. I teach a few ladies that live in the area. The furthest one from me is about 50 miles. We just meet up somewhere halfway between a different student each time. That way no one has to make a trip out of it. Give me a holler if you do live anywhere in Kentucky or Indiana. I will make it a point to get up with you and help you along. Happy Tatting.
I live between Louisville and Frankfort. We are pretty close to each other. Small world. LOL. If your on FB look me up and send a friend request. We can work up a time and place to meet up. I have the perfect place too. Close to you. Talk to you soon. Happy Tatting
Hello and thanks for the great video. I am new to this and I was wondering where you bought that needle threader? For such a one I have never seen. Thank you in advance. Etc Ambjørg Duvfors
Thank you very much for your tutorial video's, they are great! I am a newbie, and a few days ago I picked up this lovely pattern from Hobby Lobby, it has a beautiful bookmark on the cover and on the inside page has a drawing, in 3 steps, step 1 & 2 I have competed, but step 3 is giving me fits, step 2 is split rings mastered them, it has a ring, and from that ring is chains all along up to the twist and I can't figure it out. I did send you an email hope you get it? Thank you!
Hi PJ. Sorry I didn't get an email from you. Did you email Georgia instead? Anyway I am not familiar with the book you are talking about. I need a name of the book in question and then I can see if I have it in my tatting library so I know how to help you. Sorry so many issues. LOL. Anyway I am so happy your enjoying the videos. I will get more out as soon as I can. I have my own personal life that keeps disrupting my video making. Life has to get in the way of fun times doesn't it. LOL. Anyway if you will send me the info on the particular book maybe I can help you with what your working on. Happy Tatting
Hi Carol. First of all let me say thank you for watching. Secondly I am not Georgia. I am Tamie. I just make the videos for the classes Georgia holds online they are free to anyone who wants to learn. Now on to the questions. I am not sure what your asking. However just from reading your question it seems like you are wanting to do various types of rings. You can use whatever ring you want to use as long as you can work the pattern using that type of ring. So with that said I hope that answers your question. Again thank you for watching and Happy Tatting
I know this video is a fewys old but crichet criwd just flips the video to make it look lefthanded for hus left handed crochetors. Its some app he has. Hope this helps.
+Alice Callicrate Thank you Alice. Tatting is one of my loves my husband is the other. Sometimes the tatting gets top billing over him. LOL. He doesn't mind at all. Enjoy your adventure and if there is anything I can help with please let me know. Happy Tatting
Thank you so much, Georgia! I found a lot of of nice Tatting projects on Pinterest but most of them are using a Shuttle! I found it very hard to learn so I'm glad you're here because needle tatting is so much easier for me! Happy New Year to you and God bless you richly!
+Alice Callicrate Hi Alice. I am so happy your learning and progressing in your tatting. I do have to let you know my Name is Tamie, Georgia sponsors the online tatting classes and also teaches the advanced classes, Cynthia Stevenson teaches the beginners classes and I do the videos for all the classes. I just needed to clarify this to you. Georgia and Cynthia both are wonderful teachers and everything I know was taught to me from them. I do the videos for the visual learners and those that cannot attend the classes and would love to but have other obligations that prevent them from attending. If you do go to the classes you will more than likely meet all of us as we all like to attend all the classes to help the teacher so she can get as much information to the students as possible and get all questions answered. Happy Tatting and it is a joy knowing how far your coming along in your tatting.
Thanks, Tamie! I appreciate the information! Do you have a Facebook acct? We can be friends and then I can post photos of my tatting for you to see! Also, where do these classes take place? I live in Ocala, Florida!
+Alice Callicrate Hi Alice, I do have a facebook page but I don't usually give out that information on a public forum such as this. I do share it in class with the class members. It is just there are pictures of my grandchildren on my facebook and you never know who is looking at the information on you tube. On to the class information here is the link to the classes and you can contact Cynthia and she will get you going. The beginners class has a yahoo forum they post pictures of their tatting on that forum. The classes are all done online in a chat group. We share all kinds of information and we have visitors like Marilee Rockley, Corina Meyfeldt and other well known tatters that come in a share patterns and techniques with us as well. When I say you will learn alot in the classes I know that to be true. Here is the link and I hope to see you in the classes. www.georgiaseitz.com/newtat/index.htm
Hi Tracy and thank you for watching. I am not sure what your saying about the stitches turning on the needle. If they move from the top to the bottom all you have to do is move them back where they should be. This is what I am gathering from the information you shared. If they are going on backwards then you may be starting with the 2nd half first. If you could give more detail I may be able to figure out what your saying. Thank you again and Happy Tatting
I have watched and watched and watch (18 x) and tried each time to get the knots off. All that happens is that the string of knots...(im using very thin thread, as its all i have to work with), just makes a jumbled mess. I can't see how to pull it without it making a knotted mass of a mess.
Georgia, another way to teach left handed people is to have them watch the video reflected in a mirror. Everything is reversed for them! In person they should sit facing you so it’s all backward for them.

What a great tip for turning the work and avoiding the "humpty!" Thank you!

All you need to do is a “mirror image” of your right handed work! That is what crochet teachers do for teaching lefties.
Thank you ma'am. I am very glad on learning tatting using needle
Georgia, Thank you so much for your videos. When doing the ring/chain motif, are the rings interchangeable? Can I use which ring I want to use?
