Good job. I like the way you're presenting the lore. And I love how FL (especially Andrew Gaska) incorporated the various Prototypes from the prequels into the game and mechanics.

"An ATH a muh" is how I've always heard it pronounced, maybe there are regional differences in pronunciation or something like a tomato/to-maw-toe kinda thing.
I wish these were actual stories and not just part of a game lore most people cant play. I at least have no one to play with and its hard to find the books for a decent price

A anathema is a curse or cursed thing. Quite appropriate for your report.

An-ath-ema on the other hand immediately brings to mind a curse, exactly like the affliction being described.
So according to your thinking the abomination could ligitimately be pronounced the Abomi - Nation.

Unfortunately I'm in the middle of remodeling my house right now, and my main computer set up isnt available for a few more weeks. Yeh the reason why Fifield mutated into that murderous, crazy monster thing, was because his face had been melted through direct contact with large amounts of the black goo, he literally fell in it, probably ingesting a good amount of it too.
Holloway broke down because yeh, he just injested just a small drop of the stuff.

A-nath-e-ma. It means someone or something you hate. I realize some words you only see written down because no one really uses them very often. But making a video where you say it every ten seconds and mispronounce it every time is a bit like watching Scott’s tots episode of the office.
Fair enough, but A-nath-e-ma still to me sounds likes what I was saying but anyway
@@ProjectACHERON the only place I’ve seen it used in live action is the witch’s name from that show good omens. Neal Gaiman likes to very thinly veil his characters names in metaphor as a cheeky sort of peek into how characters are created and what their purpose is within the story. I’ve heard it used in other places but it joins the list of words like Detritus or the phrase “take it for granted” and people thinking its actually “take it for granite,” on the list of words authors like but aren’t used commonly.
I noticed the mispronunciation too. Great article, that minor point aside 😊

I think you are pronouncing it wrong. Anath ema. The emphasis is “a nath ema” with the second syllable receiving the strongest pronounciation.
How is this any different from Abomination???
For one, the method of infection is different, hammerpedes and abominations are the result of external contact, on the skin, whereas anathemas are the result of either ingestion or when the goo is dispersed in the air as particles. The effects are also different, abominations are basically creatures turned into aliens, like the hammerpede and Fifield. Anathemas are what happened to that one engineer, Holloway, and all the engineers that David bombed. They are infectious, unlike abominations, and while there is an element of mutation to the process, the end result of an anathema isn't an alien, but the complete dissolution of the infected into a cloud of black goo particles.

Oy man, if you're trying to make a go of this hire a writer and work on your pronunciation. Anathema is too often an anathemer...biome. 'Since' should only be used once per sentence.
