I was at the Broken Frame tour in 82 as a 21 year old...small venue...Alan Wilder 'filling in'...should have changed my life...all I remember is Dave's circular dancing...don't beat yourself up...it is always better to fantasise than experience...love your sentiments though!!!

Spirit is a great album overall. The production of that album is methodically well done. A Broken Frame generates that touch of nostalgia to the fan who does not let him see reality (in addition to having the best cover of all the albums). In my opinion A Broken Frame has a very good half and a very bad half. And let's face it, it's very badly produced. That's why Depeche Mode classifies it as the worst album in their history.
Fucking hell! I've witnessed a lot of mode covers in my many decades but this is incredibly good. I'd definitely pay to watch this beautiful performance. Cheers

And I tell you from my own experience that it has nothing to envy to analog, the quality of many virtual synthetizers are excellent and it allows you to have many sounds of the time in a compact way.
