I got bit by a dog. The tip of my left kndex finger has healed wonderfully but it has a lump of scar tissue that i notice when i rub the tip of my finger over surfaces like the edge of a table. Feels like a small BB in there. It feels like an electric shock when i press it. Do these techniques help with something like this?
Yes, these massage techniques help with all wounds and scar tissue. I had a similar problem on my left index finger and used what I learned in massage school to help it heal better.
I had my thyroid removed almost three weeks ago! Definitely cannot do any pinching yet 😦 that would be so painful. I can gently rub back on forth like she shows in the beginning ❤ hope you’re healing well xx
@@TheCrazyMango82i had mine like 5 or 6 weeks ago, i started massaging it after i hit the 1 month mark. Allow yourself sufficient time to heal and don’t do anything that feels weird or uncomfortable, probably your surgeon can clear you now to start using silicone (gel or sheet or both!) i started right after i got rid of the steri strips exactly 16 days post op I strongly recommend using silicone sheets it transformed my hand surgery scar. Also when it comes to scars the sooner the better 👍🏽🌺
You can also start by massaging the skin around the wound, that way blood will still circulate in that area. You don't have to pinch hard either, just enough to lift the skin.
A corrective / scar revision surgery by a plastic surgeon. I had mine done last month to undo my thyroid scar adhesions . No guarantees though, adhesions can always come back
In addition to scar massage, patients saw great improvement in the visibility of their scars with DermalMD Scar Serum. This natural, exclusively doctor-approved serum on the market uses organic components to help to reduce the appearance of scars while promoting healthier skin.
Scars actually get bound to the bone over time! So that’s why that happens.
What can be done for very old scars that have already healed?
How soon after surgery can you start this. I had surgery 3 weeks ago. Can I start doing this
Yes. I had my physiotherapist start 10 days after my surgery.
