    Picked up our 2025 Corolla Cross XSE Hybrid last weekend, we ordered it 18 months ago while we were still living in New Zealand. Initially we were told 8 months, Nice vehicle. Great videos Marchello keep them coming 👏👏👏

    Your video certainly lines up with our experience with our 2012 Camry Hybrid which, very low maintenance cost over the 8 years we owned it.
    Fast forward to our 2019 RAV4 Hybrid, this vehicle is a few months past the 5 year mark and has just be diagnosed with the High Voltage Wiring Harness to the rear motor defect “Hybrid System Malfunction “ error, this vehicle is 27,375 Km past its 160,000 and we are looking at a bill of just under $4,000 , not having this repair done will result in an inoperable vehicle with a value of ZERO $$$. Be very careful people!

      @@johninlasvegasthe problem effects the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 rav4 hybrid, I unfortunately have 3 of the 4 years at my house, two of three have had this problem, one fixed under an extended warranty, the 2019 is over the mileage so Toyota won’t cover the fix. The 2021 I suppose I’ll just trade it for another brand.

    Mileage in winter is basically the same or close between hybrid vs non hybrid especially in current temps.

    Dealer admin fees of $900 are absurd. If you buy, negotiate them out or walk.

    I love (brand new) Toyota hybrids, but the math doesn't work. Firstly, you pay around $4000 more than a non-hybrid equivalent upfront to buy one. Secondly, by the time, say in 12 or so years, it needs a battery replacement, the cost of the battery replacement amounts to or even exceeds the entire vehicle' value at that time depending on the vehicle's condition.

    It's ridiculous how long Toyota makes people wait for delivery of any of their vehicles since covid happened. I think Toyota and the dealerships are doing this on purpose for whatever reason. I think partly, it's to keep their retail prices and used car prices sky high ( used cars are higher then some equivalent new car prices also), corporate and dealership greed. Toyota is shooting themselves and the dealerships in the foot. Quality is slipping too, from what I have read in the media. Soon this will catch up to Toyota head office and consumers will not stand for this anymore.

      @davidp.4727 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +4

      It makes you wonder why need Toyota dealers at all. If you have to order from some salesperson and then wait for Toyota to build and ship it to a dealer, why not cut out the middleman? Order online and ship directly to the customer. No added costs, better pricing for the customer, same level of service.

    There is a lot less maintenance required in a hybrid. There is no alternator, drive belt, transmission, etc. Hybrid batteries last forever if you keep the fan filter clean.

      Have you looked under the hood? The rav4 hybrid actually has a 12v battery used for starting the vehicle, how do you suppose it stays charged?

    • @johninlasvegas
      @johninlasvegas 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@waffles1ca- The 12-volt battery is charged by the hybrid battery via a step-down circuit in the inverter, or by the generator/starter while in motion. There is no alternator.

    • @wisdomandknowledge9361
      @wisdomandknowledge9361 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@johninlasvegas If this is true, then how is the hybrid battery charged? Over time all batteries (regular or hybrid) will eventually be discharged and thus will need to be recharged. The electrical energy to recharge the battery requires a system to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy (performing the function of an alternator). Because the ultimate source is a mechanical system that means there has to be moving parts which will eventually wear out.

    I’m waiting for a Crown Signia to be delivered. I saw a video that said that the 0W8 motor oil is about $20 US per quart. I typically drive about 10,000 miles per year. Most of my driving is local in Southeastern Wisconsin. I usually have my oil changed twice a year. I’ve never owned a hybrid before. Will this be adequate?

    Please update that br

    • @waffles1ca

      I’m having my oil changed every 16,000 km but Toyota does recommend “service “ every 8,000 km but doesn’t change the oil at the 8,000 km intervals only every 16,000km under normal driving conditions (taxi may be different) air filters, the engine air filter is about $30 and is changed the same as any Toyota 4 cylinder. The battery air filter in in under the back seat, always keep the vent clear, I snap mine off every year or so and tap it out to ensure it’s clear, no big deal, regular maintenance is not more expensive then a regular car.
